Just got back from seeing Rob and Loretta's place and have a few things to say. First off, you will not find any nicer people to visit with and they are extremely gracious hosts. Showed us all around their place and told of their many experiences. The last thing that I wanted to say was that none of the pictures here come close to doing their place justice. I was going to say that it is ten times nicer in person, but that is not even close as to how spectacular their entire place really is. Rob and Loretta thanks again for your hospitality.

One thing I really like about TBN is that it really is a community and how getting to know each other on line members reach out and make real live connections like this one. TBN is far and away the nicest on line community on the net.

Thanks everybody for all the great compliments.
The reality of having that log home hits us like a ton of bricks every time we drive up. It's scary sometimes. We are truly grateful and blessed having what we have.

Dave, sorry man, I don't know a darn thing about the electrolytic action between steel and brass. Apparantly the inspectors signed it all off already, so it must be Ok with them.

Rox,
KenT is correct that the logs will not be covered up with dry wall. The only walls to be dry wall are those that are framed such as between bedrooms and bathrooms.
But not the log walls or ceilings themselves.

Brian,
Thanks for the great compliment. Brian is every bit as nice as you can imagine. It was a great pleasure meeting him and his Brother Mark. Rox is correct about what a great community TBN is that people like us can get together. Not only here, but from the Chinese Tractor World forum I belong to as well. At the Ag Fair I also met Dave from Dave's Tractor and Jeromy (rback33). I also me Pat from Pat's EZ Change and bought a set for Loretta's tractor. I looked for Chip from Artrac but missed him a couple times.
It was a great week for all.

Below is a photo taken at our little camp site.
From left to right is Ken (quikduk), Mark (Brian's brother), Brian (MtnViewRanch), Loretta (Mrs3rrl), and myself.

Brian,
All I can say is that your a lucky dog to get to see that place in person and meet the world famous 3RRL bunch!
My wife is out in San Francisco, and if it wasn't for prices of plane tickets, I would have come out there with her and just showed up on 3RRL's doorstep like a lost puppy. She has drooled over the view and the house pictures to the point I cover the keyboard before I go to this thread, just in case she walks in.

David, my guess is that Rob and Loretta would welcome you and your wife with open arms. Get some plane tickets now for next years Ag show, should be cheaper if you get them a year in advance.:D If the Mrs gets that excited from the pictures, well, she might not be able to handle it in person. It is quite spectacular, has to be one of the prettiest places that I have ever seen.

The plane ticket might be a possibility, but I don't know where I am going to get the required hat at...

Forget about the required hat.
If you don't already have one, they are supplied at the 3RRL Ranch when you arrive.

On one of our family gatherings, we supplied ALL the kids and grandkids with hats and bandannas for effect. It was called "Hat Day". You should have seen how all the kids tried them on and traded between them until they were finally all settled.
Man, was that ever more fun than we thought...

Rob,
I have been away from your site for awhile, but WOW, a lot of progress has been made at the ranch, as you start closing in on the move-in day!

Looks like a nice gathering with near summertime temperatures too, in winter!?

The only time I ever got a free hat, I had to buy a $17,000 tractor first!?

You may get offers in the future from Hollywood for the setting there, for a future film?

One of my favorite pictures you posted a while back; I believe you were standing in the living room taking the photo? The photo was taken looking out in the valley. To me, that photo was the definition of a "picture window" called serenity!
