Thanks everybody for all the great compliments.
The reality of having that log home hits us like a ton of bricks every time we drive up. It's scary sometimes. We are truly grateful and blessed having what we have.
Dave, sorry man, I don't know a darn thing about the electrolytic action between steel and brass. Apparantly the inspectors signed it all off already, so it must be Ok with them.
Rox,
KenT is correct that the logs will not be covered up with dry wall. The only walls to be dry wall are those that are framed such as between bedrooms and bathrooms.
But not the log walls or ceilings themselves.

Just got back from seeing Rob and Loretta's place and have a few things to say. First off, you will not find any nicer people to visit with and they are extremely gracious hosts. Showed us all around their place and told of their many experiences. The last thing that I wanted to say was that none of the pictures here come close to doing their place justice. I was going to say that it is ten times nicer in person, but that is not even close as to how spectacular their entire place really is. Rob and Loretta thanks again for your hospitality.
Brian,
Thanks for the great compliment. Brian is every bit as nice as you can imagine. It was a great pleasure meeting him and his Brother Mark. Rox is correct about what a great community TBN is that people like us can get together. Not only here, but from the Chinese Tractor World forum I belong to as well. At the Ag Fair I also met Dave from Dave's Tractor and Jeromy (rback33). I also me Pat from Pat's EZ Change and bought a set for Loretta's tractor. I looked for Chip from Artrac but missed him a couple times.
It was a great week for all.
Below is a photo taken at our little camp site.
From left to right is Ken (quikduk), Mark (Brian's brother), Brian (MtnViewRanch), Loretta (Mrs3rrl), and myself.
