Yes, we both commented on that when we saw how it turned out. Your comment of a hundred posts ago really had us worried for a long time. Doesn't look so bad anymore.
Thank You!

Looks like your builder is smarter than both of us...

Our last trip up was pretty exciting because there was a lot more done on the home.
It was also time to start moving some of my machine shop equipment which I have packed like a can of Sardines in the garage at home. I've got several roll aways loaded with machinist tools and cabinets filled with vises, angle plates and accessories for machining. I've been more concerned with moving the larger machines though. I've got 2 milling machines, a surface grinder and a large lathe to bring up. I can load them up here with the fork lift, but getting off at the property is another thing.

Here's a few photos of the garage tools I need to get up there eventually.
A large 4' x 8' layout/welding table and boxes full of drill chucks, endmils etc. Also the 2 mills and the surface grinder.

These photos blow show the big Miller TIG welder, lathe, a stack of fans for the new home and how I ended uploading the trailer. Each week we have been bringing up stuff either for the the builder or our personal stuff, storing in the barn for now.

I've got more machinery and tools than this to move, but I wanted to share some of the odd things we are moving ourselves. When loading the trailer, I have to watch that I don't exceed the trailer weight and also get everything chained or strapped down safely for the trip. I'll probably take one machine at a time along with more household items on each future trip up.

When we arrived it was like Spring had passed already.
It was 98ーF up there, just as hot as it was in our Rancho home.
All the green grasses and wildflowers have turned a velvety tan color with only the Oaks and Buckeye trees in full bloom.
These photos were taken as we drove up showing the contrast of the grass and trees with our log home nestled in between on that rock bluff.

Following the winding 1/2 mile drive up to the homesite, we saw they had started on front stairs, having already poured the concrete landing below it. There will be some grading left to do for the walkway that will lead to them eventually.

We started looking around and noticed that concrete had been poured around the barn and the garage.
There is a huge slab in front of our garage now.
A good size to hose down our vehicles.

The garage is nearly complete now only needing some wall plug covers.
We decided to get all motion sensor lights for the outside of the garage. They have 2 levels of lighting and also a feature where you can turn them on like regular outside lights if you want.
The electric garage door opener is ready to go.
It's a really nice garage, I think.

Another exciting ting is they started to work on the covered breezeway connecting the garage to the house. They got the foundation for the peers in and some of the walkway boards down as well as the logs to match the home.
The next day they got some of the roof trusses up too. Not sure, but that part might be done next visit up?

I took some photos of the outside and the entryway door to show what kind of lighting we chose.
For the front entry, we got some decorative lights to add to the outdoor theme. We think it's kind of complementary to the log home.
Here is the entrance going up the front stairs.

We got motion sensor lights like the ones we put on the garage to go all around the elevated deck.
They can be controlled in the same manner, offering constant light when we want. They are a sort of spotlight kind but light up the surrounding area well.

All the exterior electrical plugs are covered with weather proof covers.
I thought that was pretty cool, although they do stick out a little bit. But it's better than no protection at all I suppose.

The pictures below show what kind of lighting we got for the decks and porch areas.
They are kind of rustic and outdoor looking I think, and I like them.
All the lights around the house under the deck and the roof will be like that.

Rob, those covers are required where I am. They keep it "weather resistant" even when in use.

The whole place is looking great.

Thanks Inspector, Yeah, it is looking great.
I commented on those exterior plugs because the ones I have down here are self closing but no plastic "bubble" around them for the extra protection. LOL ... Never seen them before.:)
They're on the last leg now, looking for completion sometime late June. That means granite counter tops should be installed next week and flooring after that. In the meantime, we'll be filling up the barn with all our furniture and other stuff so we can get our place down South cleaned up and ready to sell.
I've got more photos of the interior too, and also how I dealt with unloading that machinery up there. I have to get them ready first...
