Scotty,
Yeah, lol ... it sure is fun getting old. Better late than never I guess. And that grapple mod sure has paid for itself. It would cost a lot to have all that clean up work done or at least a broken back by now. Plus there are so many other things I've used it for now. It's quite handy.
Thanks for the good wishes.

Here are the photos from this weekend's trip up there. The contractor had poured all the footings for the home and garage. Again, this is approaching the home site from the circular drive.

We were pretty jazzed to see the progress.

A closer view from the same perspective.

Loretta holding the Contractor's building sign. Normally, he pounds this into the ground but our location is so remote, he just had it leaning against an Oak tree.

Here's what the basement area looks like. It will be an unfinished basement but will have the HVAC and water heater in it. Doors to underneath the home and to the outside and a stairway upstairs.

A couple more photos of the rest of the foundation footings showing the rock structure in the background.

These pictures show how they are going to put the foundation for the posts into the rocks. They poured concrete into the crevices between the rock structure to solidify it. They do not want it to cave in on the home nor fall down the slope.

Here is a concept drawing of what the look like inside the concrete.

A couple more post foundations that surround the home.

These are photos of the garage foundation. They are going to build it up some to meet the higher area (driveway) to the front.

You can see the block they will use in the background.

There's a good view from the garage too.

Here's what the water tank slab looks like now.

We have the tank on order. It is one of those green plastic 5400 gallon ones. We need 4000 gallons for the fire department and can use the rest for the home and barn.
Our contractor says the log package should arrive in late August. He has also ordered the materials for the metal barn, so I presume he will start digging the foundation for it pretty soon.

Very impressive. Nice to see it moving along so quickly. That's the difference between a pro and a wanna be. The pro goes in there and makes i happens. No excusses, he just gets it done!!!!

Looks like you got yourself a one heck of a builder. I'm really exited to see how he builds your home. Those logs have always facinated me, but other then repairing them, I don't know anything about building a log home.

Impressive progress. It looks like your builder is getting after it & not messing around. I like your views. Your area sure looks different than here in WKY!

How about a couple of web cams so we can monitor the build.
I saw this on this old house it shouldn't cost more than a couple hundred thousand!

lol tommu!
You must be nuts. I'm so poor I can't afford to pay attention!
As far as the builder, yeah, I like that guy.... He did not whine or complain about the build site at all.
I just got word that the log package will probably arrive in September. I don't know what the hold up is, other than the log homes people called my builder with several questions.

I'm hoping to get the new permit for this home, which has the barn on it. The old permit (for the other home) did not have a barn, so they can't start the footings for it yet. But they are going to start framing the house and build the retaining walls for the garage. So there should be some activity between now and September.
