4707 3 Point adjustment issues

So I finally got back out to my new (2022 mfg and June 2022 delivery) 4707. After going through this thread I wanted to see just what I have for adjustment. On mine, another hole would not bring the lower bars closer together because the limiting part is the swivel eye on the tractor end of the sway link. Even with the pin removed, the lower bar won't go any closer to center because the swivel eye does not have enough rotation. My lower bars are about 32" apart when there is still some play in the eyes. At 31" everything is bound tight.

It really looks like the geometry (not the pins) was designed for Cat 3 and the adjustments barely get you to Cat 2 spacing.

Interesting. That is a shame. I wonder why Eddie was able to hook his to a Cat 1 mower? Also in the pictures he posted it appears he got closer to 28” apart.

This was my experience as well. The eye on the tractor side of the sway bar doesn't rotate much. And like you said it barely gets to cat 2 spacing, but the point is it does, and the implement does not.

measured on the inside of each of the lower hitch arms. I imagine from center to center its probably 30-31"


The really good news is it seems like they are moving right along with the redesign. They sent me a PDF with the new dimensions to make sure it's going to work. TBH I am not an engineer but it seems like the new spacing will work a lot better for Cat 2. Maybe someone with more experience with these implements could confirm this new spacing is going to work? Best I could do is figure out the mean distance between the 2 lower pins and it's 34".

For reference, the old spacing on the implement the maximum distance between the 2 lower pins was 29.75 inches. It's strange that number is being reused but maybe it was the easiest way to modify the design.

As promised here is the new unit. You can tell just by looking at it that the lower pin spacing is much wider
