Anyone with a Visio roof have any thoughts? How is the heat in the summer? Do you think it is worth the upgrade?
My dealer has a 4707 in stock without the Visio roof and I am trying to figure out how long the wait will be if I want one with that option.
The Visio Roof was a deal maker for me, as I have an elevated man lift bucket to do tree pruning on my place, have a fused neck and can't bend it too well, so being able to see upwards and track the FEL is marvelous. The steel protective grill on top is overbuilt and sometimes i wish it wasn't there. Probably until my helper drops a limb on the tractor...
I have mowed roads now with the roof glass open/shade pulled back, and had to move the a/c up a notch when the
bright sun kicked in. So far it kept the cab comfortable and I had at least another speed or two left. It's also only April.
I don't find the shade all that easy to use. Spoiled by electric ones on car but don't want that here.
How about a photochromatic one that auto dims to dark when you press the Auto button. Like sunglasses.
Having a moon roof, in this case a true side to side glass roof, albeit not overly wide, is very cool to have on an under 50k tractor, plus the buddy seat. Very high value proposition on 4707 particularly now that we know you can crank up the 70hp engine to 100hp for two grand later on after the warranty is out. I think that's something to look forward to...
Be careful of the stock Trelleborg TM-600 R1 radials if you want to go over lawn. They will tear you up. Working to try to put Nokian TRI 2's on mine. The trick is getting decent money, like half..., for what I own on the tractor, $4k for the tires all around, significant part of the cost of the tractor new. Don't want hard riding R4, want hybrid.
If you farm or do hay, those stock R1's are great tires. Really be hard to get this tractor stuck with them on, plus very stable feeling while mowing roadsides near ditches on an angle.
I remain having a problem with jumpy clutches. Still grab in neutral and rocks the tractor slightly. Not an issue when
rpm increased. Another member here has had the same issue. And when I go in the Massey dealer service bay where there are really big tractors, equivalents of 7's and 8 size JD's, lot of clutch packs out for repair. Maybe that's just a normal wear item like tires. But if a trans is in neutral, it should not, IMHO, be trying to move the tractor in any direction all by itself.
Maybe with higher rpm hydraulic flow increases, but I'm just guessing. Over my pay grade.
Clearly the factory rep will be back for another one of his adjustments, this time perhaps more effectively.
Tractor was dead in the barn yesterday. No juice. Put charger on, few hours later started up fine. No loose cables, wonder if rear camera was not wired correctly and it's hot all the time. Now I turn the camera off manually before shut down.
my pin and hole lower arm stabilizers work great. Everything hooks up just fine.
FEL remains remarkably fast and powerful.
