And so are many of the other here who have posted regarding the L5740.

Wow!

I took delivery of a new L5740HSTC yesterday, with the LA854 FEL, block heater, 2 rear remotes, front FEL third function remote, work lights all around, Fit Rite top link, 1000lbs of rear wheel weights, rear R1's filled with Rim-Guard, and hard-mount QA power-beyond ports for my BH, attached next to the rear remote outlets.

I upgraded out of my 2005 L5030HSTC. I kept my fairly new Michelin front tires and toothbar/grapple equipped front bucket from the 5030.

I must say that even though they sort of share the same platform, the difference is considerable.

The power, the HST plus features, the interior layout, seating, all much better...even the size seems beefier but maybe that's an illusion.

I bought this sight unseen but based upon considerable research with lots of information from you gentlemen. I am not disappointed.

Thanks to all who contribute here.

P.S. Household Six also added to the logistics with a B3000. Her name for her new tractor: Honey Badger.

Congratulations! Hope you enjoy yours as much as I have enjoyed mine. Woke up to a little unexpected snow this morning, didn't even put on a jacket - with the cab and heated garage, I don't get to really feel winter. With the extra power and added weight I have over my L3710, I don't get much seat time in my L5740HSTC as the snow is cleaned up so fast.

Thank you sirs.

Here are some more photos.

Comparing the 5030 to the 5740:

The FEL and hydro QA's are much different....larger QA's, different location giving more visibility through the cab window.

I added (dealer added) a hard mount power beyond with a jumper hose when not in use for the BH (Rhino 85 bought with the 5030). The dealer said that he had to remove the starboard cab step for the block shown in the photo.

Continued:

The power beyond attachment under the previous shown external guard box.

The Rhino subframe (from the 5030) went on without much ado.

The FEL now has all the lines routed internally, exept for the 3rd function as shown.

And the night watch is ensuring all is safe and mouseproof.

continued:

The Michelins stayed on the front, but the rears are new and so are the weights.

Everything seems improved by a percentage that is both qualitative and quantitative, but hard to pinpoint overall.

Might be because you both deserve it :).

Question on your rear weights. You said they are 1000 lbs? They look small compared to mine and mine are 200 lbs each and I have four of them

Congrats again on your nice machines.

Sir,

We think that we have been granted much more than we deserve, but I appreciate your kindness.

Good catch on the weights, and my mistake.

I checked my docs (and my order). I received what I ordered (which I somehow transmogrified into 1000lbs) which was what was on the Kubota U.S. site:

"(3) SETS OF REAR WHEEL WEIGHTS (2 WEIGHTS/SET) 103 LBS. EACH"

I checked a whole goods price list and cross-checked that against my part number:

LM8124 Rear Wheel Weight 103 lbs. each
Set of 2 Weights, requires LM81 25 Bolt Kit
Maximum of 3 Sets.
LM8125 Bolt Kit for LM8124 Weight
1 Kit will accept 1 Set of Weights
M8121 Bolt Kit for 2nd and 3rd Set of LM8124 Weights

That is what I have, so I calculate that to be 618, not 1000.

Keep reviewing, I need it.

Ah. Well that explains it :) I was just trying to figure it out in my little head
Great to hear folks are doing well. With so much doom and gloom these days a bit of good news makes the day go better. I feel blessed as well. This time last Christmas my son was in Afghanastan and we were hardly sleeping and right now he's sitting in the chair next to me.

My friend it don't get and better than this. Not even a tractor can give me a smile this big :D

Good luck with your fine machines sir.

Looks very nice! I was shopping around for a used L5030, and almost bought one, however I changed my mind after test driving a new L5740 and reading everyone's comments on here. I'm glad I made the decision to go with the new model. I just can't wait to get mine before we get some real snow. Is the power beyond kit a Kubota item, or did it come with your backhoe?

Nice looking tractor. I looked long and hard at the 5740 before getting my 4240. I just didn't need the extra HP. I actually started looking at the B7800 so as it was I made a pretty good jump. I wasn't sold on the HST+ transmission until I got some seat time with it, now I doubt I would buy a tractor without it.

4shorts,

Your son is deserving of honor.

My father was both USMC and then USN during WWII.

One Uncle at Anzio, the other in the Pacific.

I spent some time in RVN during that unpleasantness.

My SIL is former USAF and USA.

My Nephew is now transitioning into US Army SOCOM.

Your son is one of these:

"This story shall the good man teach his son;
And Crispin Crispian shall ne'er go by,
From this day to the ending of the world,
But we in it shall be remembered-
We few, we happy few, we band of brothers;
For he to-day that sheds his blood with me
Shall be my brother;"

greenrider1,

The PB was by my request, and I do not know if it is OEM or a custom job by the wrench at the dealer.

(I had the BH from my 5030, a Rhino 85)

The first photo is the PB QA's and the jumper hose

The next photos show the block the dealer installed (also removing the starboard step)

The next show one of the lines going from the block to a connection in the center rear of the tractor, a location guarded by a skid plate of some sort. (in the blue rectangle).

The next photo is looking down into that skid plate to where the line terminates.

This is all new to me and unlike anything I had on my 5030.
