Actually it was the tire bead, being rolled away from the rim,causing a flat. Your right lateral force did play a big part in this. However a good deal of it occurred when I put my 600 lb mower onto ground that was to soft. And the ruts didn't allow the tire and wheel to pivot right away. Just another S.N.A.F.U. from being in to much of a hurry.
Your ideas are quite valid and innovative. I was just trying to look at it from a perspective of keep it simple. Producing a savings of time, material, cost and possible equiptment stress.
