Well Jonny35.. you can just keep telling yourself that... let me know where you get with it.

And if anyone wants to weld their nuts and bolts on... go right ahead.. and you can thank jonny35 later on when you wanna remove the brackets and can't.

It's called OVERLOADING.. plain and simple. Its also called Common Sense.. you know.. Cub's New Slogan.

Why do customers feel the need to raise the front tires up off the ground with the bucket? I never understood that one.

Cub did recognize the problem and we/woods fixed the problem. Did we blame anyone? No... we added the kits and the problem was solved.

Everyone should know that a diesel engine vibrates like a single cylinder. Vibration causes some issues.. loose nuts, bolts, fasteners.. Solution= routine maintenance and the use of loc-tite.

Also, Cubhater knows what he did to his engine. He KNEW the injector needed to be replaced. He decided to use it anyways.

PLus, I had the engine itself mic'd out. Cylinder walls, pistons..etc. The cylinder walls are 6 thousandths over at the top. 4 and 5 thousandths in the middle and lower.

Which tells me that the engine was dusted. The engine ingested dirt. .... OR...., Since the injector(s) were bad at one time and he used the unit.. FUEL washes away oil/lubrication.. so the piston rings were metal to metal on the cylinder walls.

The loader bracket was solved/fixed. So you can people can stop bringing that up.

The engine is the main issue here.

The dealer has already contacted me. He doesn't agree with paying for anything. I asked all kinds of questions and had the engine completely inspected.

When I make a warranty decision...I go by with what the dealer tells me.. the service history.. the customers input and the shape/condition of the tractor. Overall I go by what the Dealer/Mechanic/technician tells me.

So if the dealer says No Warranty.. and Ive researched the whole situation... I see no warranty.

I can't go over the dealer and say " well, cubhater and his buddies are on this website saying Cub should pay for this...so I had better pay for the warranty"

Cub cannot help you Cubhater.

You need to change that bottom line to "Cub WILL not help you Cubhater".

Does the bracket mod apply to JUST the 7235 and 7275? I have a 7205 and was wondering if I should be worried?

Well thanks for making up my mind Cub-Tech. I have a grey market Iseki 1910/Bolens 194 with 2288 hrs that I have owned for three years. I have been shopping around for a new CUT after seeing what a twenty something horsepower 4 wheel drive tractor is capable of. Ive worked the tractor very hard for three years and the only problem Ive had is having the water pump rebuilt for 80.00. Im not saying it is a great tractor but it is a TRACTOR . Retorque this after every use, locktite that, what a joke stick to cheap lawn tractors.

Mr. Cubtech,
That a way to fire back. You're pretty good. So let me set the record straight. I do not think people should weld their brackets. Mostly everyone but you probably picked up on that. I only meant that the only possible way to keep them tight is to weld them. However I think the extreme forces would overcome the best of welds. But like you said. "Move on".
I now would like to clear the air a little. I believe that anybody that owns a unit of any brand thats far out of the factory warranty is fighting an uphill battle. If the engine was indeed dusted or washed then its hard to argue for a policy adjustment. If the injectors were failing and not replaced soon engough to prevent washing then its hard to argue for a policy adjustment. Its a shame we'll never know for sure what happened. I do know that a lot of people are suffering great expense on these tractors. To bad cub wont help them.
My advice to people looking for a compact. DONT BUY A CUB.

I've stayed out of this foray until now.... mostly because some of the contributors to this thread have acted like 8 year olds in a street fight.
But now you've thrown down the gaunlet.

I have a Cub 7360SS. Although it's a Cub, it was NOT built by MTD. They may have added some sheet metal and plastic, but the blood and guts were built by Mitsubishi. I bought it this Cub because when I compared specs with all the other colors, the 7360 came out on top for EVERY other color in the same HP ballpark.

I work Ziggy pretty hard, but like any other piece of machinary I take care of it. It has never been to a dealer for service, because it has never broken down. I would highly recommend a Mitsubishi-built Cub without any reservation!

You can rag about Cub/MTD all you want.... I'd put my 7360 up against any color 36 HP CUT any day, any time!

I am not implying your cut or any other cut other than the 723X and 727X are a problem. What I am tired of is getting the run around. I have been told bycubtech that my problems stemmed from the dealer performing the warranty work that he did "improper machining. But of course he is no longer in business. Then cubtech switched to I improperly installed the injector pump, until he finally decided that a dealer installed it. Then he said I ran the tractor knowingly with a bad injector. This simply isn"t true as the dealer can verify this. He has also said that my problem stems from the mitsu engine, this is probably true but mitsu has never implied any warranty. I don't know who designed this tractor whether it was MTD/Cub, or mitsu. There just seems to be enough blame to go around. I have been told so many things as to why I have had engine failure that I don't know what to believe, I don't think cubtech really does either or he wouldn't keep changing his position. As far as the brackets . Cub knows all about this problem. They don't really want to talk about it. Why don't they make these brackets available to the customers. A 727X just came out of the shop before mine went in. It had broken engine flanges. It cost the owner approx $4,000.00. Cub refused to warranty it. They didn't even install these brackets. Cub tech says that cub/woods incorporated this bracket in the new fel. Problem solved. What about the people who bought these cuts in the prior years. Cub has not notified these owners of the potential for the flanges breaking or offered to send them the brackets. And yes I own two other cubs that I am happy with. I don't doubt that your machine is as good as any other on the market. All I am saying is cub put a certain model tractor on the market probably not knowing of these problems and is just hoping this problem will go away.

A better question might be:
Why are the Brackets required for this tractor when no such brackets are needed for any of the other brand tractors?
Still looks likes a jury rigged fix of a production design flaw to me !!!

I wonder why caterpillar doesn't want cub mechanics working on their engines. Is this part of your new slogan "common sense"?
