AC Options, Mini Split?

A-frame owner here too. Going with the Mitsubishi Helicon (spell check was acting up....not sure if thats the right spelling). We are getting one mini spit in each of three bed rooms a 6k, 6k, and 9k upstairs. The great room takes more that would be another split system. The 3 unit system installed will be ~7k. it would have been another 5-6k for the great room. I like that they have the heat pump feature and an air filter. Plus our electric gives a small rebate if you upgrade to an energy efficient system.

I have put several types in and have liked the LG units . Having a well known make with warranty and good specs like the seer rating works for me.
The LG has 5 years on everything and 7 years on the compressor. With the one claim I made the new outside board was air shipped and arrived the next day.
18000 -24000 BTU single head unit should be aprox $4500-$5000 cdn and work best in a open concept home (hard to push air in a bottle) or if a forced air heating system is in place using the blower on low speed will help move the air around the home.

Thanks everyone! My biggest challenge is finding a mini split specialist. I've had 2 companies come out, the first came out and never called me back with a quote. Both said they've not installed many and mostly only done single blower systems.

There are many places in Ft. Worth, I would think that many will come to you, it isn't that far. Google mini split Fort Worth and you should find more than you can contact. If the ones who came were from Abilene, that may explain it.

I would be stunned if they didn't. I lived in Abilene for a few years, great place but about a decade behind the rest of the world.

Look up the # of some HVAC supply places in the area. They may be able to give you the names of HVAC contractors that buy from them

We had a mitsubishi mini split installed at the Cabin a 4n1 and my only complaint is that there is never shuts off the fans blow constantly.
