For those that recall, we had some scum life shoot two of our dogs and I ended up with permission to use some large rocks to block that access road.

I did so (and it's all marked "no moterized vehicles" now) but the slimeballs CONTINUE to whiz their way back there in their trucks and other vehicles (all moterized of course)

They moved one of the rocks I put there. There were two "rubber patches" where clearly, he hooked to the rock and it woudln't budge. He must have spun his wheels until smoke was billowing. All I saw was two slick spots that were just black with rubber. Kind of made me feel good knowing he had to really work his truck to budge that rock.

I just upped the ante on him/them /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Yesterday I went to the rockpile and picked out another gem to place in this same location.

So, I've moved the first rock back (and added more to it) but... put THIS rock on the new path they were cutting around the other rocks.

I can be such a... hmm.. "donkey" at times

OH... and my bucket is eight feet wide

I love it! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'm thinking maybe a future option is a sign that says "exit only, severe tire damage will result", and of course the appropriate one way spikes. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I will bet that your tractor could win any ugly tractor contest.
AAnd that is one big rock.

Isn't it a shame that you have to work so hard to keep people out of where they don't belong?

"ugly tractor" /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif, there's no such thing. Just as in other elements of our society, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder".

we have had the same sorta problems with people driving thru our land, a power line right of way goes thru our land, its our property just the power company has rights to come in and work on the lines and what not, but everyone assumes it is public property and drives thru as the please, one time i was pulling outa one of the access roads with my fathers pickup, while i stopped to go close the gate some kids pulled up in a jeep and said "hey any good 4 wheeling in there" i said "its private property" to which they responded "that dont matter i have never seen anyone around there" i clarified that it was our private property and that was when they left, i wrote down the plate number of the jeep and sure enough a few days latter they drove around the gate and went for a ride, but a call to the police and handy placement of a tractor to block them in till the police came took care of that problem. i find myself moving rocks all the time to block off new pathways, i used to use rocks that were movable with our small tractor but now found that they will move anything that size but none of the big ones i place with the TD 9 dozer have been budged

I had a friend dig a 3 foot wide by 4 foot deep ditch across his trail to keep the vehicles out. But I like your idea too. Go big or go home brother.......... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

Ohhhhhhh, what I could do if I had a dozer /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Brutus might be ugly... indeed, "fugly" if you know what I mean by that. But he's paid for, drips nary a couple drops and is my best offensive tool to fight the Fight.

I also dug a trench from the lake to a hill (for TVA) and made it about 5' deep and 4' wide. Checked on it yesterday in fact. I saw numerous tracks driving up to it... but NON on the other side

/forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif Perhaps it's slowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwly sinking into some of these thickheads... nah, that'd be to optimistic.

An aside... when I was carrying this rock down the road, it was so heavy, the machine was pretty much teetering on the front wheels, rears almost 100% off ground. So, to move from point a to point b, I had to take the hoe and extend it straight out behind me, allllllll the way out. That acted like a nice counterbalance and I was able to get some of the weight off the front tires too.

I DO think that a backhoe has got to be just about the MOST versitile and useful tool one can have on their machine.

These used to be called "tank traps" when I worked out west. Then a few years ago, there was a big ruckus over that term; can't remember what all the huff was about. Nonetheless, if they're in a good location, they're pretty darn effective at keeping people out.

I guess with so many people lacking any self-respect, it's little wonder they have no respect for anyone else. Sad indeed... Sorry to hear about your troubles. Hope the situation improves for you.
