Adding a New ZD1211-60 to the Arsenal

One thing I would like to know is, it doesn't look like our blade spindles are sealed. Is thay accurate? It's a breath of fresh air if this is the case. I greased mine for the first time and got about 15 pumps o. Each before I felt some resistance. Upon changing the blades a couple times, I see you can see right up into the spindle and see grease, so is that where the grease is going? Or is the spindle inside that caked grease?

Yeah the grease just ends up getting pushed through the bearings inside of the steel caps

Great to know. So I don't need to worry about blowingout a seal.... those the g6 blades? Still like them? Tired of my current blades chewing and ripping up my Ohio fescue. Even razor sharp it just wants to rip a f not cut . Thinking of trying the gator blades to resolve.

Sorry to bring up an older thread but it didnt make sense to start a new. I pulled the trigger on a ZD1211 last week. So far I am loving it ...
Same here : I bought a new ZD1211-72" Rear Discharge & loving it.
I like the wider frt axle over the older ZD331.
I'd bought a 84" lol if they offered one as I have a 110" RFM :D
I tightened up the throttle cable slack so the lever would pull the lever to the STOP that's factory safety wired.
Dealer told me theirs no different blades offered for my RD deck.
The center hole is smaller than 72" side discharge & blades are also narrower.
I'm patiently waiting for my grass to grow so I can mow my weekly 6hrs lol

I'm wondering if the blade holder / adaptor can be changed to accept the wider side discharge blades that have air lifts ??

I compared & their exactly the same length tip to tip.
