adding weight to a PHD

   / adding weight to a PHD #11
Around here everyone uses a spud bar or tamping bar to add pressure to the PHD.

It also seems to me that if you are trying to run too high an RPM you will be more likely to spin round and round without biting, than you will by runnign lower RPMs and adding pressure to begin cutting.

Thanks for the replies. I do not just dig holes for a living and it is a good thing because I am not good at it /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif I do basically all types of tractor work - tilling, shredding, hole digging, dirt work, etc as a side job to supplement my other income. I would say an average week I spend 20 hors doing commercial work with the majority of that being shredding. So far it looks like I may get one or two hole digging jobs a month so I don't think I can justify spending a lot more for my setup. I will look into adding some weight and see if that helps.
