Nice pickup, Chevy Man!
Am I no longer Dodge Man??
When the "new body style" Chevy HD trucks came out I test drove a base model 3500 SRW regular cab 6.0L and was impressed with the powertrain combo but I was a bit turned off when I reached down to pull the floor shifter into 4-high and the shift knob came off in my hand.
A little update. I towed with it yesterday and it did good. It has what I think is a true class V hitch and nice tow mirrors. It has the built in trailer brake controller and that is so much better than the add on that was in my Dodge. I was only towing about 4000 lbs but it was very stable. The bad news, compared to the Cumnins, it just doesn't have the power. A lot of that is just the difference in the power curve of a diesel vs gas engine. The Cummins rarely pulled anywhere near its redline of 3200 rpms and almost always held OD going up a hill. The 6.0 gas motor shited more often and would pull to 4000 rpm's sometimes. I could see a 10,000 lb trailer really working the engine. I owned a 2007 Ram 1500 with the Hemi. Its kind of the same thing, you just have to get used the engine having to rev more to get the job done. I don't think its a bad thing, just different.
There are a couple of things I miss about the Dodge. The underseat storage under the rear seat and the fold flat floor was nice and the pocket in the door were larger, but truth is you just end up hauling around a bunch of crap you don't need.
