An easier way to refuel your tractor

Any volunteers to put over 40 gallons in this one, never could figure out why Deere thought it was a good idea to put the fuel tanks so high and difficult to reach.

Climb up the steps, then reach out with your foot for the top of the tire, then stand on the axle while putting in 30-40 gallons, and of course the engine and radiator is nice and warm too. :laughing:

Simple answer, up front fuel weight keeps the front axle planted (so long as the tank is full)...:thumbsup:

I'm going to give one of these a try.

Put the 5 gal fuel jugs in the loader bucket, lift the bucket higher than the fuel fill which is in front of the engine/radiator and under the hood that hinges on the "WRONG" end.

Shove the jiggle end in the jug, and the free end in the filler neck and give the set up a few jerks.

Should save some aggravation until the cheap *** original hose succumbs to fuel exposure. I can likely come up with a better replacement when that happens.

I've been using one of those for years, although as you say the hose has gotten old and stiff. I set the can on the loader arm and balance it there. It also works great for draining my snowsled tank in springtime, with the sled in back of my company truck I run the fuel right onto my pickup tank. :thumbsup:

I also have the exact same 5 gallon yellow jug on the far right. It is such a pain in the ***, lol! Pushing down that darn green button to dispense the gas while holding the jug 6 feet in the air is a pain.

I have that one as well, love it. My fill is on top of the hood so I can just lay the tank on the hood with the spout in the filler neck. Don't have to hold any weight while dispensing so pushing in the button is no big deal.

The new "safe" gasoline containers that our government has mandated has probably caused more spilled gas than ever happened before the safety mandates were initiated. What a PITA!

I would try setting the diesel can not on the ground but higher up, maybe on the seat. That should speed up the pumping. At least get it up to the floorboards.

Have tried that doesn't make any difference probably because it's a positive displacement pump

Nothing wrong with that. I had a 12 volt electric pump on my 500 gallon farm tank, actually had 2. They both died so I bought what you have and use the armstrong method now.

Bought the HF battery pump for in the field if I need a quick fill up.
