steveimo,
I was going to wait to post until I finished looking at allt he photographs, but when I got to the hidden panty, I couldn't hold back! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I think that is just about the coolest part of the house! I'm not done looking at all the photos yet, but I jsut love them, all of them!!! You built a really beautiful home. And you are right about the photo screwing up the depth. Good thing you said you were like 35 feet away becuase the photo didn't show it.

I also liek your wifes decorating it is comfy and not over done. Love the colors! Well jsut love everything, it is a great house? Did you finish the basement? I can't remember?

I am totally jealous of your block windows in your shower!!! We bought a condo in Cannes France, it was brand new and you buy cement block walls and a cement floor and then you finish it yourslef. Well my husband's cousin developed and built the building so my husband jsut asked his cousin to finish off our condo. The condo is small like perhaps I don't know 700 square feet? The bathroom has no windows and the shower butts up agains the main corridor. I wanted those glass blocks way up on top of the shower so that the room would get some light.

But my husband's cousin had never built with them, he didn't liek the idea esthetically and said "no". As it turns out I was right the shower is always dark!!!!!!!! But who lsitens to me? Now every time I see photographs of glass blocks used in a bathroom I get envious!!!

I should say that everything else the cousin did turned out excellent. If you ever want to rent a really nice condo in Cannes, it is in the best neighborhood, just let me know, I rent it out for holiday rentals. You won't believe Cannes, this is where the rich and famous go shopping. I jsut took my dad there in december and we window shopped the main drag, the Croisette (our condo is on the Point Croisette) and here you find purses for 3,000 Euros, a pair of designer, and I mean Haut couture designer, for 2,500 Euros. For ne pair of Jeans!!! Anyway jsut venting a bit about your glass block wall in your bathroom. I like it I bet you like it as well, the light you get by using glass block. It is sure trimmed out nice.

Gonna quit now and go back and look at the rest of your photos. Again the secret patyr is the BEST!!!!!!!! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Eddie,

Thanks! Now it's on to the outside. About all we got done last fall after we moved in was plant about an acre and a half of grass and plant a few trees. Lot's to do.

Your place is looking good - both the dirt moving and the workshop and storage areas.

I'm still not buying that lazy story! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Rox,

Thanks for all the compliments! You are too kind.

Yes, the pantry seems to be a lot of visitors favorite too. They are really surprized when they open the doors.

My wife gets all the credit for the colors and decorating. Although she tells me she's got a long way to go on the decorating. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif No, we didn't finish the basement. I've been building shelves down there to try to reclaim the space. When we moved in everything just kind of got thrown down there. I need to finish the shelves and then install my cabinets in the garage so I can get my tools out of the basement. What a mess.

The condo in Cannes sounds great. Next time I'm there I may take you up on your offer to rent it. I get there quite frequently. Well, maybe not frequently. Actually.....I've never been there. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I've been to Paris a couple of times and a lot of other places around the world on business. Who knows......if I'm ever in the neighbor hood I'll let you know.

Steve
