All I know is that pickles should NOT be automatically put on a hamburger. If pickles are wanted, let people ask for them. Or if you feel that all hamburgers should have pickles. put them on the side and let the consumer put the stinking things on their hamburgers. To be clear, I have no problem with people putting pickles on their own hamburgers and eating them. I like tomatoes on my hamburgers. I can and do eat the majority of them without tomatoes, because they are not offered in most cases.
Why not order them without pickles you say? Well sure, I do that every time, but does it make a difference? Many times it does not. You get your pickles whether you want them or not. And taking them off manually, while partially effective, is not wholly effective as the stink and taste of the pickle is still there.
Without a doubt the majority of the hamburger loving public WANT the stinking things on their hamburgers. But it don't make much difference if you love them or not, you are probably going to get them on your burger.
