I wonder if anyone from Kubota ever reads this forum. If they did, we might see some improvements in the products. I believe that Kubota makes a good product, but sometimes lets down the ball on things that they don't have much experience with, such as mowers. I don't know how much grass there is in Japan, but I know that it isn't as much as we have in the US.

Please update me on the latest info for finding a really good replacement anti scalp roller for Kubota mower deck on BX 2230. I have read of several good approaches to the problem but do not have the latest info or contacts for obtaining quality anti scalp rollers for Kubota mower deck. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I had mine modified by Larry at MowerAxle and they work great. I strongly reccommend his modification and you can't beat his good service and speed of turn around from the time that he receives the wheels.... contact him using this e mail address... larry@moweraxle.com

Thanks for your reply. Please tell me what rollers you sent to Larry at MowerAxle for modification. Did he modify your factory plastic rollers, or did you get hold of some other type rollers for him to modify?

factory plastic rollers were modified. I even used GM grease in them so you might say that I modified them further. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Please tell me if you run your 'Modified' factory plastic anti scalp rollers on the ground. If so, do they hold up and last for a year or so without breaking down? Do you know or believe that the rubber rollers from Danny Williams on this thread would be a better value?

Please give me your opinoin as to what is the best solution for the troublesome Kubota factory anti scalp rollers..

I don't run the wheels on the ground, because that isn't the intended purpose of them. I can't tell you how long they are going to last, because the modification is new and I have only been mowing for a month so far this year. Be glad to tell you my experience this time next year if you remember to ask.. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I don't know if Danny's wheels are going to represent a better value or system for the BX. I believe that only time will tell which is going to be the best system and the least expensive. A lot of people have had the modification done by Larry, so there should be some feedback by the middle of the summer. All that I can say is that I am satisfied with mine at present and the service that I received from Larry was superb.

I've been away for a while...new job (same company), busy life, the usual excuses.
Wanted to give a quick update... My version of the modified deck wheels is working great so far. No wear, no tear, no chipping. And they have taken some torture too.
If I remember correctly, the cost to go to my version is ~$80.
See page 9 of this discussion to see pics and details I posted a while back.
If anybody is interested in ordering this setup, let me know and I'll try to dig up the part numbers to order form Castercity.com.
