Is it appropriate to post a link to an auction that I think the members would be interested in? I'm not affiliated with the auction house or anything, but it's a bunch of old tractors and engines being auctioned and I happened to run across it.

In general is this OK? Where would I post such a note?

Cliff,

If the link that you're posting is not to a third party's website, which is prohibited by rule #9 in the Terms of Service, then you should be alright posting that information. Make sure that the site you want to link to does not prohibit doing that.

I would think that you could post this in the Rural forum.

Thanks for asking FIRST! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

And if I'm wrong, let's hope Muhammad, Hakim, or Ibrahim jump in here real quick! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

It's ok as long as it's not your auction... just a helpful link, yes.

I've done this before, and either it was alright or no one noticed it...

In looking at auction ads online, I've found some with several interesting old tractors and I thought it would be of interest to a number of members, so I posted a link to the web page. Because they were all old tractors, I've always posted it in the Vintage forum.
