Artillian Grapple

Artillian,
What is "ultra-high-strength and wear-resistant steel.."? Also, no Skid Steer QA fork frame? JDQA only???

I was wondering the same thing, it might be an option for a lot of small tractors if it fit SSQA. They probably see the SSQA as useless weight and I can understand that if someone is fully outfitted with their proprietary system. For those that want options and want to swap implements with their other tractors, not so good.

I looked at Travis from EA's post and didn't see anything inappropriate. Certainly not to the level of Artillian's. I have bought from EA and they are a quality company. I have bought from Titan and the welds are solid and steel good. Fit is an issue but was an easy work around.

Guessing "ultra-high-strength and wear-resistant steel" is AR200, maybe T1. Not likely AR400. Do like the modular approach of the Artillian, but not sure if that makes it worth the close to $1k premium over the 66" EA (about $2900 for 2 clamp modules, 2 rake modules, and a frame vs $2074) or more than $1500 over the 60" Titan ($1275). The average guys not wearing out a Titan 60" with 1/2 plate, even if it's only A36.

Lets change it up and hide the names of the innocent or guilty.

OP: Anyone have a Chevy 1500 pickup, and what do you think of it?

Forum Advertiser: Here's a Ford F150 we sell, and a bunch of pictures from guys driving one.

It's tactless. Now what happened after that might not be in the best light of ALL parties involved, but I can't blame one of them for being a little miffed at the thread crapping.

Just my .02.

Do any of you have the Artillian grapple made for the John Deere 300 series loaders? I would like to know what you think of it.
I have been looking at the Titan but at 450 LB it would put a large load on the 300 loader just to pick it up. I see the Artillian grapple is Module built and if you only get the mount and the grapple it would be 163LB a fraction of the weight of the Titan. Even if you got all three modules and the mount it is still 200LB less.
My use would be for moving log sections and brush. I already have the third HYD lines to the front that I use for the snow plow.
Thanks.
Here is a link to the grapple I am talking about.
Grapple

I don't have a tractor like yours but I have a grapple and pallet forks. I don't like the idea of it using a pallet fork frame. Sometimes I go from using my grapple to using the pallet forks. Do you already have a set of forks? Look at how hard it is to adjust them. Imagine taking your forks off every time you want to use your grapple then installing the grapple modules. The grapple modules weigh 90lbs, for the average person that is going to be tough to wrestle onto the pallet fork frame. The rake modules weigh 40lbs and would be tough enough to deal with. I think most people could deal with these drawbacks if the price was significantly less but it costs as much as a grapple. The modular idea would have been good back in the 70's before there was a quick attach. Now you are taking a tractor with a quick attach and putting something on it that is less convenient to use. It would cost $2100 to make a 2 lid grapple.

I know my Chevy 1500 leaks oil pretty bad, the Chevy surburban leaks oil, but the F-350 doesn't leak any oil. I think they are both pretty equal vehicles, but Ford is built without you tax dollars. I think the interior of the Fords are nicer. The beds on both trucks suck. They are both made for hauled off trash. For any serious hauling they both need a heavy duty steel bed.

The modular concept is great, so is world peace.
I'd be concerned about how well everything stays lined up, especially if you treated it like Wildman Ted.

This is a valid concern even if you don't drive like Ted. I do some ugly things to my grapple's lower jaws and lids for that matter; but I also have a much larger tractor than the Artillian was designed to support.

Thanks I think, Not sure I know what I am looking at anymore.
My big issue is the weight of the Titan and the low lift power of the JD 300 loader. If it was a 300CX it would be twice as strong. JD wants $1,000 for the larger cylinders.
I made a quick connect frame when I got the machine new and it holds a 7' western snow plow, 2" receiver hitch and a log boom. So I just need a lightweight grapple for moving trash and cut logs. Seems all of the Ash trees that are not dead on our property soon will be thanks to that nasty little green bug. So I have a lot of brush and rotten log sections to haul to the burn pile. So the pallet fork frame would not be needed but would allow for forks down the road.

If you are looking for a lightwieght grapple check out the Single lid Wicked grapple(274lbs). http://www.(Temporarily blocked due to reports of company closure)/Compact-Tractor-Root-Grapple-p/eta-cut-sl-rg-50.htm If you want a grapple with a larger opening or one that is heavier duty check this one out. http://www.(Temporarily blocked due to reports of company closure)/Single-Lid-Root-Grapple-p/eta-slrg.htmIf you want a 2 lid grapple check this one out.Everything Attachments Wicked Root Grapple for Compact Tractors If you buy a dedicated grapple and forks you will have about the same money as what you will in an artillian that you have to assemble when you need it.

If you want a set of pallet forks here are a couple.

42" Pallet Fork Attachment with 2" Trailer Receiver Hitch for John Deere Loader | eBay

These are cheap but they don't have a back rest.

Titan 42" John Deere Pallet Fork Attachment 200 300 400 500 Loaders | eBay

These have a back rest but I would add some expanded metal to the back to protect the tractor more.

Even though the Emerald Ash borer killed those trees they will still make some good firewood.

PS There's no such thing as a wicker grapple.

But there is. :)
