Low voltage looks good. You've got a lot run now between what the security guy did and your low voltage boxes with strings. You have access to top and bottom of 1st floor for adding stuff later. By getting the doors (outside walls) you're in good shape- those are hard to add later due to insulation.

Well I'm a Johnny come lately to this thread, looks like 8 months to the day late. I have spent the last 3 days reading every one of these 1,637 posts covering 164 pages. Let me go on the record as saying it is the finest forum thread I have read since Al Gore invented the internet.

Obed you are an inspiration to all of us out here that have aspirations of building our own home and for that I thank you for the diligent work you and your wife have completed and shared with us. It has been a true adventure these past few days reading along as you started your build and along the way made internet friends who all become part of the plot and storyline. Just amazing!!!!!!!

As a retired US Navy sailor I never was able to call any one place home for very long but now I too am in the early stages of building my dream home in N. Alabama. Like you I will be living in my RV (in a park) while I prep the land (phase 1), put up a metal building (phase 2), 1000 sq ft apt in said building (phase 3) and lastly build a 2400 sq ft house (phase 4). I will be the GC or as I like to say a Owner-Builder.

I will be ordering a new JD 3320 ehydro in 3 weeks to start my new adventure. I can only hope it turns out as well as yours has.

My hat is off to you my friend.

We got a little more brick laid on the backside of the house this week. We had several rain showers this week that slowed down the brick work so not as much progress was made as I would have liked. Today we found out that we didn't receive all the lintels that we ordered so the brick work had to stop at the top off the big window in the back.
