Attaching bucket hooks to a Kubota MX5400 with L2236 bucket

I'm not sure how/where to attach these. It is a curved back bucket but has a plate mounted on top between the loader connections. How are others with this bucket adding bucket hooks like Ken's bolt ons?

On my MX6000 with the same bucket, the dealer welded the hooks on

Your bucket looks like this, I presume? If so, it should be very easy to weld hooks on.

Good choice. I'm good at weldng and metal work. For bucket hooks, I prefer to use a system like Kenny's that attaches a welded assembly to the bucket with bolts and a backing plate rather than welding directly to the bucket.

When I bought my tractor eight years ago the first thing I did was bolt on a set of Ken’s hooks. I have used and abused them and they haven’t complained a bit. That’s the route I would go.

I have welded hooks in the same location. What I do is connect a short piece of chain to the two hooks, then attach some axle straps to the center of the chain. I can hook any strap to the D rings on the axle strap.

IDK? Use the forklift I honestly don't use rope, chains are stronger and I have lots of them. The forklift back cage is pretty rope and strap friendly. An old guy with a bad back needs a forklift around.
Your needs may be different.

Agreed, and I've got some chain grab hooks with clevises for lifting & pulling. We use what fits the job. Sometimes chain, straps, or ropes. Being an old sailor, I probably use ropes more than most. So this last time I put some rope tie points onto the bucket as well. Much better for tying things in. Gotta say that after handling chains all day, handling rope is a pleasure.

That looks like nice work. What do you do when the job needs ropes or straps instead of chains?

I welded on safety hooks 6" from the end. This is where the factory hooks on the Massey 20C bucket are. I then welded in 3/8" grab hooks in line with the outer edge of the skid steer quick attach plate. The prior owner had welded on the center ring. This is a Gehl skidsteer bucket with a heavy boxed upper lip so its strong enough to handle the loads. Below is a photo of me prepping to weld the grab hooks on.

I wish I could have found weldon hooks like these. MF and JD used them, this is on a 410C. They are a combined loop and on the back have a nice hook.

Here is what I did on my MX5400 bucket. Used weld on hooks on top. Welded to plate then plate welded to bucket. Also drilled hole in center of cutting edge and fabbed a hook that can be mounted there. I also can mount a hitch ball there to very easily move trailers around.
