Attaching & removing 3 point implements

Nice job! Glad to see you made it work. My lever on my Deere is easily reached from back there if need be. I really don't understand why people have so much trouble hooking up 3 point implements. I guess growing up on a row crop farm is why I don't. Far as Saftey concerns, all our ag tractors since the late nineties(Deere) have had that option of a 3 point raise and lower on the rear fender. Our new Case/IH tractors also have a PTO bump feature as well. On the 3 point hitch, we have had quick hitches on the big tractors since the eighties. LUTT

Except for the make of tractors, your row crop experiences pretty much parallels mine including JD quick hitches in the late eighties. It was probably a two year conversion process retrofitting implement attachment points. Ah, the good old days.

UPDATE:

After installing a prototype control mechanism and using it for awhile, I decided to fabricate a more robust system using a T handle, brake yoke and a chrome plated 32 Ford radiator support rod. I no longer have to struggle to get implements lined up. Obviously one has to be careful when moving/adjusting the 3 point while standing near the equipment while the tractor is running, but this works for me.

Here are a few pics of the final install including closeups of some of the parts used.

Next project: Installing hooks and a receiver on the loader bucket and a hydraulic top link for the 3 point.

Thanks for the kudos. I know what you mean about putting on the finishing touches. Most times, it was too much of a hassle to go in and redo everything. I think the reason I did it this time around was because I already had the parts laying around and they were calling to me to install them... or something...

That's about how I'm operating. After "hoarding" all type of old parts I'm finding many projects that I'm able to complete because I have about the same precise size part I scavenged years, even decades ago. Just today I put together a small wood project (ramp for our Corgi) out of a 5yr old PC case and some 3/4 plywood that had been cut to the exact size needed about 15 years ago. Serendipity.

I think there are various Ford restoration sites out there where you could find one. The chrome feature makes it a bit more weather proof - plus it slides easier through the tubing clamp. ;p)

That's about how I'm operating.
