ATV Trailer

Ultimately, that will be my goal. Big enough to haul the ATV, yet small enough to pull with the ATV. Best of both worlds.

The neatest atv trailer I have seen was build by a guy who hunts with me. He build it basically the same width as his atv with the deck over the tires. He can haul his atv on the trailer and pull it in the woods without it catching on trees.

That is basically my ultimate goal. I will have my '82 VW diesel pickup on the road soon and would like to pull the ATV behind it rather than put it up in the bed (due to the relatively small size of the bed and large size of the ATV). Then I'm going to sell my fullsize Dodge 2500.

If you have the ability to build one this is what I did, works great. It is configured to use as an arch.
It folds down to create a flatbed with stake sides and works as a dump trailer. the bed just slides down over dowels and is easily lifted off the frame.

I really like that design as well. Any thing that is multifunctional wins in my book. Can you skid logs with it?

yes I use it to skid firewood logs. The winch is a boat winch and it will pick up all the quad can pull. and it will lift the bed with all you can put in it.

Without an axle all the way across you sure don't have to worry about being highcentered.

Wish I had a pic of the unit with the bed on. As it is you can see where the bed slips down onto the four square dowls. Is easily taken off and on.

I have a friend in Ak that builds the "tundra buggy. It has tandems on it with a common axle so if a wheel goes in a hole the rear tire will walk up over the front one. Works well in very rough terrain. It is big enough to haul a moose boned out and has a model that has a place you can actually sleep under a canvas on top of it. it is a waterproof box though so no tailgate.
