It is been really fun seeing your progress with those big logs.

I have to say that I've never seen a modern cabin built that way, everything these days is at least milled to fit on the bottom of each log at a log home factory and then they assemble them on site. I'm looking forward to learning a different way to do it as I watch this thread. It is going to be impressive when it's done!

Thanks. I wanted to do an old-school type log home. I have nothing against kits, but I do believe there are advantages to this method. It's a lot more work, but that's one of the reasons I'm doing it - for the journey. How many people build a log home from bare logs at 64 years of age. It's keeping me young!

Today we did the 8th course and one log on the 9th. The. 9th course will be the last. Tomorrow the Cap Logs and then it's on to roof rafters.
