The ole' knees ain't what they used to be. Gettin' on isn't too bad. Jumpin' down can be painful.
Has anyone rigged a step for the B-7800??

Pics would be nice also.

I've got an idea using two existing holes in the FEL support, but, I'd like to see what others have.

I'm tired of tripping off of the platform. Not that I am ungraceful...but man there is no finesse way to dismount that thAng.... It's not like you can just roll off of it.... :D

I have considered looking at the L2800 and those similar sized models to see if I can make their step fit the B7800.

Some things a person takes for granted.

I got my B7800 in March this year and never noticed a need for a step.

Then after reading this post, I thought about it and realized my 72 inch MMM has a built in step right there where you dismount on the left side.

Since I have never removed the MMM, I never even thought about this problem until I read this post.

Hmmm, now this winter when the MMM isn't attached and I'm arss deep in snow I think I will want one of those steps!

Crap!!! I'm always wanting something (as the better half always tells me) :p

Here is a link to a thread on installing a step on B2910/B7800 and others.
FOOT STEP B2710, B2910 & B7800.
Sure has made it easier to get on my tractor.
Thank you for the link. My search didn't pull it up (footstep, i.e. one word).

One question from the linked thread; Did the step cause interference with your mid-mount mower?

:tiphat:

The step is ok on the L2800 but when I steped off of it today my foot hung in it. I felt like the rider thrown off the bucking bronc. My tractor use being around stumps and making trails the step usually looks something like this.

:D Thank you. That makes my next decision... LOL... I can see where it would be an issue in one way or another...

You need to work on that this weekend. :D But for some odd reason, I feel like you're quite proud of that mark of character for your machine...

Have you considered making a step using a length of chain like a stirrup? Or, a piece of pipe suspended by a chain at either end? That way the step will move out of the way when it enivitably encounters an imoveable object instead of getting mangled.

That sounds like an easy solution for me thanks for the idea.
