Hate to throw cold water here...But average use is probably 50hrs per year (residential)..grass cutting etc. The wheels should have been checked and the oil probably changed after season 1...This is recommened on low mileage cars too.

Manual says nothing about that. I did everything according the book.

If they said 50hr's or 1yr I would have done it.

I agree studs should be locktited in and I don't think they were.

Here are some pictures

Sorry it's not sharp. But you can see the imprint of the lug that was on backwards (at 12 O'Clock).

This is the lug that was on backwards and it just came out that way.

That's too bad. I don't think it'll cost a lot to fix, I'm not sure if I would buy from them again. I can see their point, they have no idea if you removed the wheels or not but keeping a repeat customer happy should be worth a few bucks. Besides if you were to ever trade your Kubota in that would be a dealer's dream.

That's exactly the point. I spend almost as much filling the car gas tank these days. It would probably cost them $50.00 for the RIM. And I'm doing most of the labor. They should just fix it if Kubota won't pay them. But when I saw one stud fell out and one on backwards I was pissed and more pissed they are blaming me. There are zero mods. Not even a hook on the bucket, no fluid in tires. Completely stock. They still have those dimples on the outside of the tread.

Then he tried to tell me they were on correct with flat side in when I said the imprint shows at least one was on backwards (one that fell out might have been too). And he said there were washers and lock washers. He's wrong. Rear has no washers and bevel goes towards hub and front bevel goes out and uses washers.

Then he said I should have felt it. Sorry, in sand or on gravel road pulling box blade it's gonna be too late by the time you feel it in your butt.

It irk's me to no end that they would make a profit on the RIM they F'd up. It's not the money. I hate to have to deal with a serious problem and that's what really scares me.

Guys, are there any specs on torking the wheel nuts?

How tight should they be?

Same question re engine oil drain plug.

Thanks!

Last time I was at a Kubota Dealer they had just received a shipment of new tractors in creates... they came unassembled and one of the things I noticed is none had wheels attached.

When I bought mine, I was asked what tires I wanted...

Probably someone not experienced... seen it several times at the family auto business... cars would come in with all the nuts reversed.

On a side note... recently, I was looking at my left front wheel and thought the tie rod end was going bad because it appeared very loose when driving... turned out the cotter keyed nut was loose by almost 4 turns... I'm sure it became looser over time, but it could not have been tightened properly to begin with.

I have to agree the dealer should help you out- but
did you never check tire pressure? Seems you would have noticed the backwards lug, but maybe not.
If you never check tire pressure then get with the program man;)

When you get around to replacing that tire, don't just buy a rim though the parts department. You may find that they can sell you a rim and tire though the sales department cheaper.
