MarkV took what you said about the hooks into consideration and decided I will use (2) 3/8" grab hooks inline with cylinder arms and (1) 3/8" slip hook in the center. I think this will give me alot of flexability. I appreciate all the advise and will be picking her up sometime in the next 2 weeks...

Congratulations on your "new" tractor! That's great that you were able to negotiate the servicing/repairs, and the original price sounded quite attractive. If you don't mind sharing, what's the final tab? My local dealer has a couple of rental units advertised, so I'd love to compare. Thanks, and enjoy!

Herefromthere, I think I got lucky for I had been looking for over a year. This dealer rented skidteers and excavators so this unit only had 30hrs added in the last 2 plus years (87 total). They were good to work with and seemed to take good care of the unit (other than sitting outside):D. They are giving me copies of all maintainence records plus all the extras. Small construction/ landscaping companies haven't been buying any equipment it seems and I bellieve I was the only serious inquiry with cash. Once it was all said and done it was $22k out the door that included hydro thumb and Wisconsin taxes(5.5%). Now to figure how to store it since it doesn't fit in the garage:(

If they haven't completed the hook welding, I also had two grab hooks welded low on both the front and rear of my B26. The front ones are angled on the frame just below the grill and the rears are welded low on the back hoe frame. I use these for pulling rocks or stumps that I can't lift or move yet with the FEL or hoe. This way if you are doing a hard pull and want to include tracktor weight momentum you are pulling on steel and not hydraulics. I only use the hooks on the buckets for lifting that can be done with the hydraulics - forcing these points with tractor momentum can lead to blown seals or other damage.

Yo Rhino, the tents they sell work real nice. I have used one for numerous years for a B20 and now my B26. You just have to make sure you use solid cement blocks to weight it down. I run a rope up to the cross member and tie it to the block. Also the one I have does not open high enough in the front so I just put a rope in the middle and pull it up a few more inches.
With the sides couple hundred bucks. Pep boys has the best price around here. Ya just can't leave it out.

One of these days I have to put up a building. Problem is building it will negatively affect my seat time.

Ihansman I will hold off on any additional hooks til I have a little time on the machine and see what I need. I know I will use the bucket hooks:D. I will keep your suggestion in mine for later. Thanks.. Martian I know she has lived outside her entire life but I think I can do her a little better:thumbsup: That brings me to Don's reply. I have been doing some research and since I am not ready to put up a permanent structure yet I feel the portable may be the answer. A friend bought a Shelterlogic Roundtop Instant Garage 12x20x10 ($399) set the posts in concrete and has been happy with it. He stores his skidsteer, trailer, etc in it without any problems (3 months).. I saw a 20x13x12 with 8foot door same company for $499 and may go that route. It will give her protection from the elements but not the 2 or 4 legged rodents I have around me.:(.. Thanks for all the input and I should have her home next week... Pictures of her and her shelter will be coming.... PS.. the work is piling up. Snow storm( heavy, wet, high winds) last nite took out one of my trees boardering my property line. Good thing it fell in my neighbors open field plenty of room to work... He may not feel the same though...

Thanks for the response. Sounds like you got a great deal on what should be an awesome TLB! Enjoy!
