How steep a grade should I be able to pull with a 3030,tires loaded with rim guard and loader(empty) ,in high range? Could not pull a hill of about 20%(NOT DEGREES) the other day, even with the engine at PTO speed. I will try to measure the slope when I get home-but it seems like it shoud pull it even if I had to go slowly. tractor is going in for the 50 hr-wondered if I need to have the issue checked out.

thanks

I consider H to be a transport range and not a working range. Drop down to M or L and you should go right up.

Sounds normal to me.

Any marginal incline of a significant distance and I have to go to Medium range. I was surprised when I first got my B3030, I really expected it to climb anything in any range. High, as the other member posted, is mainly for transportation.

Ditto equipman ... High range is really for moving loadless from point to point although you can have small loads within reason ...

M or L

Same here , Med or low

In high range my B2910 can have a problem climbing a decent incline with HST pedal pushed all the way down. By letting up on pedal I can usually get the tractor to climb the hill. But not at same speed as it was with the pedal pushed to the floor.

Thats MY usage of H range...when I have to go down the road about 1/8 of a mile to get a big bucketful of topsoil or gravel...I go into High range for traveling on the asphault...filled or empty...and then stop in my drive and go back down to M range for working.

This is when transporting-it is up a part of my driveway-no load except the tires and the loader itself. I also tried going slowly-i.e. not pushing the pedal down very far and it did not want to go.

thanks for the replies

I had to find out what a 20% grade would look like. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
Here is a site that shows what different grades look like. Click Here From the illustration that it shows of 15 and 30% grades. I believe what others are saying. You would have to be in mid-range to climb the incline.
