Kubota B3030
I am ready to pull the trigger and put rear remotes on my B3030, that is the easy part. The problem is that I cannot decide if I should go with talking to the Kubota dealer about ordering the kit for the 2 remotes or to go another route. I know what the remotes look like and where they go on a B3030 but I am also not stuck on the notion of putting them there. I have read alot about putting the rear remotes on a B3030 and the concenses seems to be, the factor remotes are cleaner. I want the remotes so that I can have TnT to hve better control over the box blade and the rear blade as I maintain my road, シ of a mile long.

Any advise on what you think I should do? For the hydralic top and side links I am going to get the ones from Fit Rite Hydraulics.

I was quoted $1300+ for 2 remotes for my B2920 installed, no pistons or lines , just to Qc's,,,,I thought that was rediculous, I had the dealer pull PB in a loop from the loader valve, and ordered a 2 spool 10gpm valve with float on the #1 spool for $200, labor for the PB was $310, and the top link cyl and hoses were $150 from Agri-supply, Mt view Ranch can provide a tilt ( a little more complicated cylinder) for $250

So $800 as opposed to $1300 plus $500 for the cylinders from the dealer

Gary,

Does the 3030 have a location for a rear PB block to be installed? I have a 2000 B2910 and I installed a rear PB block and the parts were about 120 bucks for PB parts. From there you'd have to have your valves and mounting hardware.

Regards,
Chris

My B3030 is a 2005 model. I am not sure what the 2 of you mean when you say PB block. I know I am not wanting to tie into the loader and I will not be having the dealer install the rear remotes. I figure it is my tractor, I have all the books and mechanical knowledge so I will be doing the installation. I will just be buying the parts and installing everything.

PB = power beyond. It's a port on the FEL control valve that you use to add your remote hydraulics. There's a cylindrical sleeve that is inserted into the PB port that diverts the flow to the remote hydraulics.

BTW: the prices some dealers charge for add-on remotes is ridiculous. When I bought my new 2008 Mahindra 5525, my dealer installed triple remotes for $800 including all valves, hoses, fittings and brackets.

Here's my remotes. It helps a lot if your tractor has nice, large flat-top fenders.

I will follow this closly. I am looking at a similar setup for my BX25 using the backhoe hydraulics. It is also a PB system which is confusing. The dealer says they will not do it as it is modifying a warranted system and they do not do after market stuff after warranty expires because of liability issues. I want to get a 3pt log splitter but not sure how to set it up. They only have a pressure and return hose. I also am thinking about adding a hydraulic 3pt kit.

Well, I decided to order the Kubota kits for the 2 remotes. They are expensive but then again they are made for the tractor. The dealer had to order them and it is supposed to take a couple of weeks for them to come in. I will post pics of the kits when I get them and also some progress pics as I install them.

Gary,

I have attached some pictures of the Power Beyond block I have installed on my 2000 B2910.

I added a single rear remote to my L3400, for which there is no kit available. So, it was either pay the dealer to source all the parts or do it myself. I learned a lot about hydraulics (at least this type) when I did the job, and it turned out reasonably well.

The factory kit is an excellent idea, everything is designed to fit (not to say it will) in the space you have available. The L3400 operator's station is pretty cramped for space, I had to get creative to make everything fit. At the end of the day, it cost me slightly less than half what I had been quoted for a turn-key install job. That's not to say it's the same job, I don't know how their's would have turned out, although I think it would have been comparable to mine.

Gary,

I have the rear remote (x2) kit installed on my B3030. The PB off the FEL is for an open circuit such as the BH. The rear remotes take off on the right side rear of the tractor. The biggest problem I have is the second set of remotes are very difficult to connect and disconnect. Kubota uses a push to connect and pull to disconnect.

The problem is more so with the lower set of remotes, the hydraulic lines are so short and so close together that they do not have the room to move back and forth to allow connecting and disconnecting.

I spent considerable time finding a hydraulic line routing solution but ended up having to angle the mount for the second remote in order to get the freedom of movement for the hydraulic lines.

A picture is worth a thousand words and if you find the same issue I did I would be happy to post a picture. On the other hand, if you find a solution, please post your rear remote mounting solution.

Bob, did you see what I used for a mounting set up? These are available in double or single clamps.

I have a B3030 with Kub remotes; they ARE close together and very buggery to get off (push on, ok; pull off, not). SO, I open a vise grip wide and use the housing as a fulcrum; they pop off easily. Just have to remember to fiddle the lever to release the pressure in the hoses. No damage done using this method.

You guys that have trouble getting your push-pull remotes disconnected, do you push in and then pull out all in one quick motion? They usually come out pretty easy when removed in that manor.

I received a call today from the dealer that my remote kits are in. I probably will not get over there to pick them up till tomorrow though.

Please take a bunch of pictures and post then when you install. I would already have my remotes on my B3030, sep'n my local dealer doesn't want my money. When I find a Kubota dealer that does want my money, I intend to install both factory remotes also.

Thanks

Yes, push in pull out... no go. The break away kit looks good, but expensive. What kind of dealer is that, dosen't want your money? How does he stay in business? Or is he just incompetent technically?

Ducktape and all,

My dealer says Kubota does not have a remote kit for either the front or rear for my BX25. But he does not believe in them personally and is trying to discourage me from modifying the factory set up. Says I can do what I want after the warranty expires next year, just do not bring it back to him for service. Most of their compact tractor business is to gentlemen farmers or?? who drag their tractor back to his shop for even oil changes and lube on the BH and FEL. They are located in a semi urban area so it is a pain in the *** to have them service anything. Real farm dealers/shops are 50+ miles away any direction I go. He has probably seen his share screw-ups he has to fix. I cannot be down for the average 2-3 weeks they would have it for even a minor problem. They have only one mechanic and he works on all their small stuff too.

Ductape, will do. I picked up the kit yesterday and it looks really nice. It might be a couple of weeks till I get time to install it. I also received the my Pats quick change yesterday so I will get that installed this weekend so I can get the top link length to Brian at Fit Right Hydraulics for the top and sid link kit.

This is how I had to angle the second remote block in order to get the push/pull connect operation to function. This angle took the downward pressure the hydraulic hoses were putting on the quick connects preventing them from sliding back and forth in the block.

I spent a lot of time playing with the hydraulic hosing routing with no luck but this block alignment allowed it to work. I welcome any other ideas...
