really like the b3030 hsdc but i've only got an acre of land. live on a culdesac and the town dumps alot of snow on my yard so i'd use it with the snowblower and fel and maybe the mmm in the spring. is this tractor too large for my lot?
thanks
steve

I have an acre on a cul-de-sac as well and I am buying a BX1860 for my mowing etc! The smallest mower for the BX2360 is a 54 in Mid Mount Mower. I have several 5 ft gates and need the 48 in mower that is only available on the BX1860.

If I owned a lot your size, it would be too large for mine :p

I think a BX would be more appropriate.

Having said that, we own a B2910 - which was the predecessor to the B3030 .... and gotta say: I really, really wish I had a B3030HSDC ;)

I have 4.7 acres and it works well for me. 600ft of drive way with lots of snow. Most of my neighbours with 3-5 acre lots have BX's, ride-on mowers and hire the snow blowing out in the winter. Nice thing about the b3030 hsdc is the factory cab, large bucket and FEL with lifting power for winter. You may need a smaller ride on mower or push mower to cut the grass and get the big areas with the B3030. If you remove the FEL and use a MMM the tractor may work for you. I have not removed my FEL and don't have a mmm so tractor is not that compact with a 3pt hitch mower. If you have a lot of small areas that require tight turning this tractor tends to rip up the grass.(I have R4 industrial tires but turf tires would be better)

Go for it ! You will laugh last when you're clearing your driveway in your underwear........ heat on, tunes cranked up !

What Ductape said:thumbsup:
While I have never operated the tractor in my underwear I do really like being out blowing snow off the driveway on the proverbial dark and stormy night in comfort.

Look at the tasks to be performed and not the size of your property.

thanks for the responses. now trying to figure a way to get it into the garage if i make the purchase. i've got clearance of 7 feet but i've seen some posts were the r4 may be the right tire. do they make a lower profile turf tire that would fit the wheels?

The turfs and the R1 tires are both taller then the R4. You will have to fold down the ROPS to get that puppy into the garage. Oh wait you are getting a cab tractor! Then you might have to price the taller garage opening with that package.

My house sits on one acre and I own another vacant acre next door. B3030 HSDCC has been just fine for me. I could probably get away with something a tad smaller but I wanted that factory cab.
No regrets here. After having the thing for for the last 20 months, I could never go smaller. It handles the 60 inch rear blower that I had from a previous tractor just fine. Loader capacity suits me well also.
I'd say if you have a spot for it, buy it.

As far as clearance goes, I fit mine through a 7 foot door with the turfs, but had to modify the trim on the opening a bit, and still need to add a strip to the top edge of the door. No problem for me since mine is all wood........ might be more of a challenge for anyone with vinyl siding / metal garage door. R4s should fit, but it'll be tight.

As i love to say, you can never be too rich, too thin or too much tractor!!

do you install the mmm yourself? can it be taken on-off easily?
thanks

Ordered the mmm on the tractor, but have had it off a few times, pretty easy off-on. It will pin-up for more clearance and not drop with the lowering of 3 point, which is what I do in the winter for snow etc.

I use a 60" mmm with my B3030HSDC. It is very easy to connect up the linkages and shaft to hook it up because there is lots of room under there to work.

Although its quite easy for me to connect it up, it does weigh a few hundred pounds and has to be pushed under the tractor to get it in place. It has swivel wheels on the front which help, especially if its on a smooth surface but if you have a bad back or something, it might be a chore to move it around and muscle into place.

For comparison, I found the deck to be heavier than the deck from my BX so harder to move around on the floor, but found it easier to connect up the linkage and the pto shaft once it was in place because there is more room to work under the tractor.

Someone smarter than me has probably devised a dolly to use, but it hasn't been enough of a pain for me to build one yet.

thanks DelSc, sounds pretty easy to me. can you use a creeper to hold it in position or would clearance be a problem? Do you use a bagger?
thanks
