I like your cultivator/hiller, JT. Is that an as-bought, a modification, or a custom built attachment?

I notice that the B7100 runs hot and has a lot of black smoke when I run the mower on "high" pto, but when on "low" works great and goes forever. Runs about 210-220 degrees and no smoke. Cuts through high wet grass like butter. The JD with a 709 on the back will cut through tree trunks but not as agile when in the woods grooming trails. Overall, it is a great tool and a good compliment to the big boy.

Thanks for the temps. That is what mine runs according to my gauge and is confirmed with the infrared. I hope to find a good used finish mower soon to use on some large areas that I mow with the Cub. I have really enjoyed using mine so far and looks like you have too.

Thanks, I took my cultivator and made a tool bar for it then bought the hillers and fabricated adjustable mounting plates. I keep the plows adjusted to take out the tire tracks and lay off my rows. The hillers can be turned up out of the way when laying off rows.

Sometimes I just amuse myself:

...it does work great; but looks funny.

temps run 160-190 with this getup.
I have never gotten the HST temp gauge off peg - gauge works too; I tested it.

Good thing you put some weight on the front.

Got the rectifier on today and it is charging from 13v at idle to 16.5 at 3/4 throttle. Now I can pursue the headlights. Still haven't solved the high engine temp with PTO work but 6mmbr's B7100 is running in the same range using the PTO so I am wondering if this is normal for our tractors. If I could survey all B7100 owners who have installed temp gauges on their tractors then maybe I could get a good baseline for the correct operating temp. My Ford 1210 is also a 3 cylinder 16HP and it only runs 154 deg. using the same tiller. This is confirmed using my infrared on the head. The Ford uses a water pump with the same size radiator as the Kubota. I uploaded a video on youtube titled B7100 Dynamo Output but haven't found it yet.

If you don't get an answer here, try this other forum. I did a search and found this thread. According to posts its possible to use D750 or D850 or D950, and get more HP, and more options in finding something.

I also found a site diesel engine traders.

Be mindful, there are some different setups regarding cooling systems, water pump or syphon. I think these vintage Kubotas used syphon.
