My small farm irrigation system is growing leaps and bounds. I am adding storage tanks, line drops to fields, plus I am planning on a new house for the parcel.

The system now involves one (off property) well, a booster pump and pressure tank at the well, 2 storage tanks net 7000 gallons, two additional booster pumps and pressure tanks at the parcel.

Two questions:

1. Do I need backflow preventer/s, and where would it/they go? I would like to install one only if that is possible.

2. What kind of filtration devices should I be considering. I am not talking about domestic water filtration (already taken care of). I am asking about filtration before the water tanks, or before the lines set in my fields for irrigation, or others.

Thanks,
Martin Petersen.

I've been using one of these for 13 years. Seems to work good. Good for lots of flow and easy to pruge. Rusco filter
Cheers!

I can only say what is required in my area.I f you connect an irrigation system to your house water you have to add back flow preventer to prevent any tainted water from being introduced into the potable system.
