Barb Wire Post - 2 kinds - which is best?

I've always liked an 8 foot/ 16 foot spacing. If you do cattle panels they are 16', fit right in. Can put in a gate anyplace, as I need 16' gates. If I need an opening but rarely ever use it, a cattle panel & pull the middle post will make an infrequent gate.

For a very sturdy fence, alternating wood & T posts works well, every other or 2 T, one wood, etc.

To put up a fence more quickly (need to build around the existing livestock sometimes), posts at 16 feet holds cattle, come back & put in the others at 8 foot later.

Lots of options.
