8" x 8" Wide flange beam, 610 lbs. just have to get it 14' in the air. No problem

Stuck these little "A frames" together out of some scrap, chain hoist on either end, and lift er up into position.

Support Post on one end up. This one was actually hardest part of all, but me and chainsaw, my partner in crime, got er done.

Support for other end attaches to 4"x6" post. This one was not so bad to get installed.
That completes Beam install. Now on to subfloor, roof, etc. Next message I'll show you how me & Chainsaw hustle plywood subfloor up on top.

I like the A Frames. Very clever!!!

I'm guessing the beam is for a chain winch like used in auto shops, but that's just a guess. Am I correct???

Thanks, the Aframes worked great, and you guessed correct. If you look at the Aframe pic , I'm going to put the yellow chain fall (furtherest one away) on a trolley for hoisting items. Got 16' of travel on beam, and about 12' of lift . Have had a smaller version in my shop for years and it has been so handy thought I just couldn't do witout one in the barn.
