This is what I've been using to trickle charge my riding mower batteries, and I've been very pleased with it.

I just noticed that it calls itself a "Junior" charger, and it says it's for motorcycles and ATV's. I'm guessing that it's too small for a tractor?
I use a Noco 2D on my F150 which only get drive every couple of months. And I got the direct connect for a better connection. It mounts under the hood and I just need to plug it in.

Every tractor operators manual specifies the minimum CCA and AH for the starting battery, do not buy one with less.
Bigger is better if there's room.

Kind of depends on individual conditions. The specs for the OEM John Deere battery for my tractor have higher CCA than any replacement battery I could find. When the original battery went bad I replaced it with a SuperStart battery from O'Reillys that had over 100 less CCA. It worked fine and lasted over twice as long as the OEM battery. Of course, I park inside and never need to start the tractor in below freezing weather. If I parked outside and had to start in subzero weather it might be a different story.

Be aware that if you get a replacement battery, some sizes are made with the positive and negative posts reversed from side to side, and putting one of these in and connecting it up can instantly cause you major expensive damage to the electrical system. Size 24 and size 24F is one example. Look closely when buying!

Does the tractor sit for long periods of time unused? Long, as in a month or more? The earlier statement about electronics that remain on with a small power drain is very real. I have had trouble with cars left for months. Completely disconnecting the battery, or using a battery tender is the only solution I've been able to come up with. Just keep in mind that whatever background electronics draw might be present, that will essentially get deducted from the charger's output. So if you have a 1A tender and your electronics background load is 0.75A, then are only putting 0.25A into the battery and that's probably not enough. I'd lean towards a smallish automatic battery charger - one that does bulk and float charging. Or just install a disconnect switch.
If you have a .75 amp parasitic draw there’s a problem. I understand what you’re saying but there should be no more than a 0.05 amp (50 milliamps) draw on a shut down vehicle. Easy to overcome with a 1 amp charger.

My 2022 Massey Ferguson 4707 tractor has a dead battery. The date of 09/11/2021 is on the battery, so I'm guessing that's how old it is.

I bought a battery for my wife's van last month, and the guy at NAPA said that batteries only last 3 years on modern cars because of all the electronics on them that never turn off. Her battery was 3 1/2 years old. It looks like my battery is just over 3 years old.

Does this make sense to everyone? I used to get five years out of a battery, and sometimes in older vehicles, even longer. 3 years just seems like it's too quick to die and need replacing.

I do not want another Massey Ferguson battery. I'll go to NAPA and see what they have during the week. Before I go there, I'm curious if this label makes any sense to you?

I haven't removed the battery yet. I should do that now, but it's too cold out there, and I'm going to work on my fence first.

Is there something that I should ask for when I go to NAPA to get a better battery?
Batteries are like anything else. You get good batteries and not so good batteries from all manufactures . This is my opinion at least. I've had batteries die within several years and others seem to last for years. I just run them till they die and replace. I have better things to do besides running around trying to find the "perfect" battery.

Still using the original battery that came with the MF2705E 5 years ago. I plow in deep winters too and haven’t had an issue yet. Take it in to be checked

I ahven’t had much luck with NAPA batteries lately. Switched over to DEKA

I ordered the battery from Walmart. Taxes and fees brought the price up to $209. It should be here Thursday. It didn't say anything about a core charge, or taking the old battery.

Being able to buy it online, and not deal with driving around to find it, along with being less money then what I was seeing online, made it an easy decision.

Eddie get the biggest CCA battery u can.
The more the more heavier which is good
Don’t know how it is anymore but if u bought a six yr battery it would have more cca an heavier.

2 things i have learnt over the years. Cold and heat shorten the lifespan of batteries. Up in Canada they only ever died in winter. Thus the use of a electric battery blanket. Now down here in Panama i use a heat shield blanket to keep engine heat off the battery

Even the Noco 1 amp will generally get the battery charged. it may take a week or 2, but when my solar charger which barely does an amp most day's, can get a battery up in 2 or 2 weeks, i am not worried.

I still think the noco is a better deal then the tender. seems to have more options and generally is cheaper.

missed the sale from last week.

and I use the 10 amper, which is nice cus it can rescue the battery's and provide a 10 amp power supply mode as well, and can do lithium.

The Battery Tender units are very good, I have several. The Jr units have been adequate for me, usually rotating them around. The Jr units have been good for me, even when used on deep cycle batteries. Thy do a fine job but ONLY when you use them (my problem). I have rotated one between two motorcycles and a tractor for years. Of course when we relocated the tractor and it was no longer in the rotation, its battery failed.

I installed external lugs and use a battery charger/maintainer when I park my tractor, I do the same with my dually Ram 3500. Both go in a garage.

The main killer of lead acid batteries of any vintage, has always been sulfation due to allowing the battery voltage to get to and remain below 11.0 V. You may be able to revive that battery using a desulfation charger. These are often called battery rejuvenators. In any case, make sure to keep your lead acid batteries fully charged year-round. My tractor battery is now 11 years old and still going strong. The start batteries in my bulldozer are now 16 years old.

My wife got 10 years out of her 2015 Jeep wrangler battery, we were very surprised! She doesn’t use it much only 34K still has the original air in the tires!😂☮️✌🏻

My NAPA Legend AGM battery is a DEKA. That's why I bought it. It was expensive.

   / Battery Info #59
Well….most napa batteries are deka…that is to say both are made by east penn mfg.

I was told East Penn makes different grades of batteries (like good, better, best, etc) and the Napas were the lower end. Deka was better/best

" the guy at NAPA said that batteries only last 3 years on modern cars because of all the electronics on them that never turn off. "
Couple of things
1. Opinions are like **** orifices - everyone's got one.
2. Branding is not equivalent to manufacturing.
3. Manufacturers and vendors may lie about product features without legal consequence.
4. A single manufacturing facility may produce dozens of uniquely branded items off a single assembly line.
5. Vendors may purchase the rights to use a famous "brand" name on a product manufactured for them by a third party. e.g. Home Depot licensed the 'General Electric" name to 'brand' water heaters made for them by some company in TN.

The battery in my 'modern' five-year old car is the one the car came with (Knock on wood). The battery on my Kubota B7800 lasted over five years, but the Interstate battery I replaced it with did not. Now using a Walmart battery in it (crossing digits).
