Everyone likes to complain about batteries but I've had really good luck over the last few years. My tractor is 15 years old and I put the third battery in it last year. My truck is 8 years old and has the original battery. My wife's car is 12 years old and I replaced the battery two years ago just to be sure she doesn't have a problem but I'm still using the original battery as a spare utility battery.

That's a really good price from Walmart. But it's not available at any of my local stores. I'm trying to broaden my search, but so far, it's not happening

Eddie, I guess I'm lucky or on borrowed time. The battery is my LS tractor is still the original now 10 (almost 11 in 3 months) years old. The tractor is in the garage in the winter (5-6 months here) and I keep it on a trickle charger during winter. Spring, summer and fall its kept outside Hard to believe you only got 3 years from yours. I would think being in a warmer climate your batteries would last longer.
My Wife's 2016 car is kept outside and just replaced her battery after 8 years. My truck is also 2016 and is on its second battery. 1st one was defective and replaced under warranty in early 2018 so replaced the battery is 6 years old.
The price of batteries today has gone way up. I usually get my replacements from a battery store that is usually $30-40 cheaper than auto parts place.
It seems like batteries today are a crap shoot. I’ve had some that have lasted 10 years, and others die in 3.

You can order it from Walmart.com and pick it up at your local store.

Not according to what it's telling me after I logged in. Either it's just my area of Texas, or it's all over, but it's not available to order, or have delivered.

The flooded cell isn't in stock at warehouses. For $20 more, the AGM also gives you a 48 mo warranty. They are available to ship if your local store doesn't have one. I like the AGM's, and have had good luck with them. They take vibration better.

I think this is the one. They say it can be delivered to my house this week. Seems weird not turning in the old one for a core charge.

They may charge you a core charge, then you drop off a used battery to Walmart to get your credit for returning the core. I usually have several spare absolutely dead batteries for just returning a core when I purchase a battery.

  • 4 year free replacement warranty, hard to beat.

This is what I've been using to trickle charge my riding mower batteries, and I've been very pleased with it.

I just noticed that it calls itself a "Junior" charger, and it says it's for motorcycles and ATV's. I'm guessing that it's too small for a tractor?
I bought a 3/4 amp Noco for my dirt bike as the manual said not to use bigger. When I left something on in my truck, the Optima battery was absolutely dead after about three weeks. I put this charger on it and it took more than three days before it quit charging and went into float. Should be OK if your tractor doesn't use power when not in use.
