Best all around gun?

Thanks, Pat, for clarifying. Just realized you were posting at the same time I was.

I won't engage on your data points, but rest assured the Australian case looms large for rural Canadians. The feds have just moved to scrap the long gun registry here. Sanity is prevailing. Honestly, I think our PM right now might be more conservative than your President is. It's a big, empty, wild country when you get outside three cities. A gun is a tool. They're seeing the light.

And it's more unfortunate that RoyJackson took it to the level of nation-bashing.

I'm sorry you took it as "nation" bashing...I rarely (if ever) bash nations...but I do bash governments (including the US government) with no hesitation...and no apologies.

The National Firearms Registry...that multimillion (billion?) dollar debacle...is a pretty good indicator of the leftwing tilt of your government.

But even your post...the thread title is "Best All Around Gun", not "Is it Safe to have a Gun in my Home".
You did not respond with a type or make of gun (unless I missed something in your post or posts...if so, I proactively apologize)...you responded with complete off topic and dubious statistics. By dubious, I mean you're much more likely to getting injured or killed falling off a ladder or falling in a bath tub...but I've yet to see organizations dedicated to being anti-ladder.

The majority of gun owners are well aware of safety...there are exceptions, of course...including so-called professionals (law enforcement).

So, Creemore...what is your opinion of the best "all around gun"?
(BTW, I just noticed your post count...you picked a **** of a thread to get introduced to the friendly folks on TBN)

there are just as many guns out here in the country as there are in your rural areas. So, with respect, you're dead wrong on that count.

hmm.. I might have to lookup some data on that.

at least for my area anyway, you have 5 types of people concerning guns.

people who cannot own guns

people who do not want a gun

people who want a gun but don't have one yet

people that own 1 gun

people that own a WHOLE BUNCH of guns.

For every person I know that owns 1 gun, I know 15 that own 20+ guns, and a few that won't admit to how many they own.. :)

i know way more gunowners than non gun owners, and of the non gun owners, many of them are in the 'yet' category due to age or financial restrictions at this point.

For a long barreled gun for home defense, hunting and target shooting how about the Remington Versa Max?

For a short barreled gun for home defense, hunting and target shooting how about the Taurus Raging Judge Magnum.

Load it with 410 shells with bird shot for country snakes and varmints, heavier 3" magnum loads for bigger "varmints", 45 ammo for when they run away and for the occasional bear that might break into your home you can donate a 454 Casull slug to the party.

And a lot of Americans just like guns!

Creemore, being Canadian, probably doesn't have too much history with firearms (other then the occasional hunting rifle). He has also been raised with an anti-firearm mindset. Canada is, I'm sure, a wonderful country...but it has had a leftist form of government for as long as I can remember.

Creemore, Roy seems to believe that anyone not born in the USA should have no right to post on this forum. At least this time he did not outright say that you should keep your opinions to yourself since you are from another country like has has before, even though the other country he was referring to was the US Virgin Islands.

That's me...

I honestly don't know how many guns I own. I would have to sit down and count. However I actually only use three on any kind of regular basis: muzzle loader, deer rifle, and turkey gun.
