Ok, so I've been mowing with the 60" MMM on my BX2200 since last September. I've mowed my 5.5 acres about 3 times last year and every week since April 25th this year. I have yet to sharpen the blades.

I've thought about getting a second set of blades and having a sharp set always available (which is what I did when dealing with my old Yardman) but I've yet to make a move.

Any recommendations out there about how often to rotate/sharpen the blades? The cut still looks great. Hard to believe -- but it does.

I bought extra blades for my 60 inch MMM and was pleasently surprized at $12 a blade from my dealer. I have bought flimsy lawnmower blades for more money. I can now sharpen the old blades at my leisure, whatever that is. /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

Huck,you are absolutely right.I've been sharpening Kubota blades for quite a while and the ones on our BX seem to hold an edge "forever".The supplier for these blades must be using a better grade of steel.
