Blower too big???

I would only play with weights and chains if I didn't mind rebuilding the PTO drive line when it got dropped. It's way too big, especially on startup and when shock loaded. And I suppose steady state when show is heavy and wet.

I have a 16 hp B7100 with 50" Buhler that is so heavy I had to put 350 lbs of weight in the front. Not counting I have wheel weights which are 40 lbs each on the front wheels.

I get a lot of snow here and the only time it really grunts is when the the snow is hard packed drifted and higher than my rear tires.
