Hello. I just bought 11 acres that was part of some logging property near Carthage, NC. After retiring from the Army we are finally able to fulfill our dream of owning land in the country and building a house. I am starting on my part-time/hobby farm ambitions and am in need of a tractor. The tractor my dad is giving me (an A-C D17), I won't be able to transport here from Michigan for a couple years. I think what I need is more than 40 h.p., front end loader & grapple hooks, and 4WD (or MFWD). As I said, lots of slopes and with pine trees growing like weeds out here I anticipate being in tree removal mode for quite a while. We don't want any clear-cutting; mainly, I want to selectively cut and clear certain areas as I go.
