I received the replacement piece yesterday and put it in this morning. It was much harder then I expected and took several hours. Everyone told me how easy these one bolt fittings are, but I bet none of them ever did it by themselves when it's 90 degrees out and 75 percent humidity! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I managed to get 120 feet installed before I gave up for the day. I was sweating so bad I couldn't see and started to feel light headed. Definate signals to get inside, cool off and surf the web for a bit.

This morning we decided to put some pipe in.

First we laid out 280 feet along the trench.

Here's Steph waiting on me to get started. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Steph is playing gopher.

Actually, she's greasing the rubber gasket and pipe before we slide them together.

The black line around the end of the male end must slide all the way into the female end and disapear to pass inspection.

After the grease, and the ends are lined up, I slide them together.

I have a 2X8 over the end of the pipe and a digging bar to pry them together. Sometimes if they line up just right, it's real easy and will slide an inch or two at a time. Other times it wont move half an inch no matter how hard I pry. That's when a good helper is really important. Steph can see when the angle is a little off and make corrections on her end, or tell me to adjust.

This morning we used the tractor to haul the pipe. We're either getting lazy, or smarter!! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Then it's just a twist of the wrist, and the pipe is just where we need it to be.

Turns out I measured a little short on my trench. I needed to add another 20 feet.
