If you truly want to save money and trade up I'd strongly suggest a DK-40 or 45, instead of a 50. ...

Well, I've heard you say this before, and you're probably right, but the thing is, I don't want to thinking I should have gone bigger again. I think different people have different thoughts on how much power a tractor needs. I've heard people say their CK25 is a beast and all the power you could need where I'm now thinking the tractor should only be made in the 35hp flavor.

You've got a fantastic dealer, keep him and forget your CK tractor experience. ...

No doubt, I agree 100%

BTW, I like your thoughts on using the equity in your BH to allow you to move-up into the DK series. Go for it!!

Well, I'm torn on it, but I think it would be worthwhile. Man it would be a sight to see the dirt fly 10 minutes after my dealer said he'd make the trade though! I'd get about 10 projects started while I still could, that would make me very popular with the wife!

This is fun for me to think about, but I'm pretty sure he's not going to make the trade (for any DK cab). I'm still waiting to hear.

You're probably right, the CK ought to be something it isn't.
The DK is, all you could possibly want, and by going with the 40 or the 45 you may be able to make the deal with your dealer - probably not an even swap for your current 'machine', but nonetheless a different and better choice.
Make it happen- you won't regret the decision.
Go demo a DK 40 or bigger and you'll be hooked like a lab rat on crack!!:D
You won't look back.

You may be right, the DK 40 might suit my needs, but this has to pretty much be an even swap for me to do it. For that reason, I'm doubting it's going to work out, I'm expecting him to come back with an offer that needs another $5K or more. How much of a difference is there in price between the DK40 and DK50? For the CK line, it's only a few thousand bucks. If he'd do an even trade on a DK40 but need a couple thousand for the DK50, I'd definitely consider it.

What's probably more likely is that I keep mine for a few more years and then start my shopping from scratch, looking at all the colors again and all the possibilities. On the other hand, if my tractor starts actually costing me money after the warranty is up, it would happen a lot sooner.

If it wasn't for TBN and knowing that this isn't just the way Kioti's are, I'd have abandoned ship a long time ago.

Do you mean trade even to get a new DK40HST with no cab or backhoe? That might be possible. A DK like that could go as low as $21-22K even up here in the snowy north. A slightly used gear version of the DK could go for a bit less too.
I like mine and it seems to be reliable so far @90hrs and 6 months...

Nope, I'm talking an even trade for a cabbed version. It's going to depend how they value the Kioti comfort cab that I added. A cabbed DK45/50 is around $32K (I believe - I'm in Ottawa) and the full rig that I have would be about $34K (CK30HST, Kioti Cab and Woods bh). Depreciation has to be factored in, so it may not be that far off. Correct me if I'm wrong with the numbers.

Maybe the OP is working it too hard? Says he needs a bigger FEL and using the box blade stops it in its tracks. Sounds like he needs a BIGGER tractor, or maybe even a tracked machine.

I can't imagine the cab on a DK is $9-10k? is it? I assume the dealer has room to wiggle on those just like the tractor.
You could call Lakeridge Equipment to get some quotes, they had a flyer out with DK45 HST's advertised at $23k so its seems they are upfront for what they will actually sell the tractor for. Get your dealer to come close atleast to their prices.

Well, just got off the phone with my dealer, and it looks like I'll be sticking to my CK30.

The difference in price was approx $4500, all taxes in. Since I'm very torn about giving the bh up and I was looking for an even or close to even trade, I'm going to pass for now. The breakdown of the numbers was what was interesting to me.

For my trade, he's going to give the equivalent (think 13% tax) of $32,718 and sell me the DK50 hst + cab for $36,518 all in (tax, prep, loaded tires etc). $32,718 represents 94% of what I paid for my tractor, cab, bh when it was new, it now has 155hrs. For those who question buying Kioti because of resale value, I'd say 94% after more than a year and 155hrs is pretty good.

As far as my FEL not working, a couple of bolts on the bottom of the FEL control came loose. It's only been fixed temporarily because it wasn't the problem they expected, they're coming back with more bolts this week. It was down for 1.5 days total, although that just gave me time to get to know my box blade again.

Take the deal! That is a great deal- I traded my 2009 DK-35 for a 40, neither has a cab. I kept my hoe and it still cost me over $6,000 and I'm still glad I did it.

94% after a year??? WOW....!

do it!

When I traded for my '40 my 3 year old CK30 brought $11K and if I remember correct the original price was $16,500-ish.
