Re: Bubba\'s Basic Barn

Hi Danny,

No my wife doesn't get ticked at me, well at least not that I notice. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif I told her right from the start that we were going to have a barn so I had room to work on my old car, and for the tractor and other stuff. Now I keep dropping hints that we need a bigger barn for when I start accumulating antique cars. It might take me a while, but I think I may live long enough to get it done. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: Bubba\'s Basic Barn

Hi Dave,
It's similar to a Morton barn, but it was built by Rockford Construction, the same ones that built our house. They had an Amish crew put it up. It was neat watching them, they even built thier own scaffolding to install the ceiling.

Re: Bubba\'s Basic Barn

Hi Bebster,
Yes they used rebar, and I can't say I'm real happy with the floor. I have a lot of cracks in it. I think the biggest problem was the drought we had right after they poured it, as the clay shrank. I may have had better luck with wire mesh, but that's just my opinion. Also when they put down the sealer, the spray tank kept plugging up and I have splotches of thick sealer all over the barn. But overall I'm real happy with it. It's kind of my home away from home. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif But the downside is the wife almost always knows where to find me. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Re: Bubba\'s Basic Barn

WOW that is one nice shop can get plenty in there and room to move around ,I like to work on projects also, and am in the process of finishing my shop/barn/storage shed/etc. its a bit smaller 24x32 but it is a triple decker if anyone would like to see it for some ideas perhaps I could post pics?I would really like a bathroom in mine but ,I think I'm close enough to the house only 90' from back door !!(no emergencies I hope). /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I really like the open area feeling that your barn has,not like your going to bump into something...Very nice
