Anyone have plans for a bucket hitch? Anyone used one before? Was wondering if they actually work and dont simply pull off of the bucket.

I have one, with 2 clamp bolts, it wont stay put, slides side to side and works loose. I purchased a receiver housing from Northern Tool to weld on the top edge of my bucket. Its on my bucket list:laughing:

I was thinking about getting one of those as one on the top of my bucket is too tall.

I too have welded a receiver to the top of the bucket. It works great, although the bucket flexes a little when moving my larger trailers.

See the attachement.

Ahhh there it is.. was looking at your post with my iphone and didn't see it.

Yeah looks like it would pull off... unless you drilled a hole in the bucket for a pin.

It appears that there would be an issue with seeing the ball to easily hook up to the trailer. Maybe standing up would give a better sight line. I don't have that kind of set-up so don't know for sure.

Having a ball on the 3PH is very visible and no problem to get it lined up. The maneuverability is a bit less than with the ball on the front, of course.

This is how mounted mine. I have a direct line of sight for hook ups.

Has anyone simply drilled a hole in the center edge of the bucket for a ball? Different shank sizes are available, could go with as small a hole as 5/8" for a 2000lb trailer.

I remember seeing a photo on TBN like that in the past. The problem would be seeing the ball for hookup. With my setup I can see the ball. Simply drive up to the the trailer lift and drive away. Works perfect and the receiver can be removed in a few seconds when needed.

I welded a receiver to the rear of my boxblade and use a 2" and 2 5/8" hitch. works great, easy to see, lifts all my trailers without flexing and provides hook point for chains.
I have a toothbar on my bucket and there is not a good place to mount a ball there. If a hitch was mounted on top of the bucket, I could not get under one of my trailers, so I put it on the BB.

I have one purchase from the same people that make Paynes forks. Works good but I also have a toothbar that helps to stiffen the bucket.

I have a chain-on type receiver I got off ebay for cheap. Works great but seeing it requires standing up a bit. After reading this thread I wonder if I can attach it to the top of the loader...hmmmmm....
