Wow! Many thanks to everyone for all the great ideas!

My approach was a sturdy bolt-on angle with slots. I like to weld (made the cab) but this is something I did with the first Kubota and it served well for ten years on that one. It has always been up to the task. Works with the chains toward the front or rear of the bucket. The picture of the 6' Landpride deck hanging out there gives some indication of the strength. That hookup made it easy to tuck the deck under a shelf for the winter. Works with any chain up to 3/8".

Richard, you are shattering my illusions! I got an Everlast so my welds would look like that! You mean my first ever weld isn't going to be that good?

We shall see..... :)

I did both clevis mounts and hooks on mine, that way I can use whatever method is most convenient or applicable.

I think I might have welded my hooks on, if my welds looked anything like yours James. As it is, mine are bolted on.

In the interest of full disclosure, and it hurts me to say this, but ALL of my welds do not always look so good. There, I said it and it is true. Dadgummit. It requires concentration, and proper prep to make a weld that looks decent, and sometimes I fail on both counts.

I agree with chim on chain slots.

Cut slots into the bottom channel iron on the fork frame and in the pin on mounts of the brush fork frame.

Also added a receiver hitch in the center.

I hated having to choose one or the other, so...

This is a 1666 pound WLL D-ring, with a 5/16 clevis grab hook. It is bolted through the top of the cylinder mount for reinforcement. I use 5/16 and 1/4 GR70 chains. The 1/4 chains have 5/16 hooks. The 5/16 chain hooks will hook on the D-ring if needed, and the hanging hook will grab either size chain. This is in the center of a BX bucket. If I need a 2-point lift, I swing the chain over two of the toothbar teeth, inverted V fashion.

Normally I would have the bucket dumped when lifting, but with the cutter, I lifted it up, then pulled the trailer out from under. I needed the extra reach of the level bucket to get past the fender.

I welded chain hooks on the Allied bucket fitted to the Hurlimann. There are times I could use a clevis with rope and straps. And there are times when a chain plate would be handy (bidirectional).
If I were to do it over, I would do a chain plate with a drilled hole for a clevis. The weld on chain hook is a limitation.
