Building my bridge crane

So that's where our tax money is going!
I worked for a very large marine construction company. All of our work is hard bid, lowest bid gets the work. What we do with our equipment / material is our business. ;)

You bet it is. Contractor salvage. Low bid is low bid, the government the best price they were after.

Got the knee braces on.

3' long each, 3x3x1/4" tube on 45 degrees

All done except paint now

Looks good, I plan on one in mine in the next year or so, still setting up the basic shop itself.

That looks real good!

Here's what happened to mine. Tenants are using it to hold a roll of bubble wrap. It's 22 feet, on rails 100 feet long. Kind of a waste but it pays the rent.

Yea, could probably hang that bubble wrap from the conduit and be fine:D

Which I had electric hoists but man are they pricy. If I used it all the time maybe I could justify it. But once or twice a month....

Here are some shots after paint. I didn't paint the rails since they were reused, they were kinda greasy and didn't feel like cleaning it all off. Just need to stensil the capacity on it and call it done

Looks professional. Nice job !

Looks even better. Stencil the capacity on the fish plate with a black diamond border. With an electric hoist you're inclined to add a whole system to spool the wire as it travels which could be the most difficult part of the whole job.
