I ordered the parts today...but they must be becoming "popular parts order items" as the prices have increased to $17.65 each. (At least at my dealer)

last shot, in this pic you can see that i placed a bushing in the end where the bolt goes through, the bolt is tight, yet the arm will pivot on the bolt

What size bolts, length and size did you use? I used the same pins that were on the tractor, on both ends of the bar and have a lot of side to side movement.

Thanks

Tom

Beautiful job, Milkman! I should have my parts this weekend when I return home from my business travel. I like the idea about the bushings and lock nuts.

OK I need some help here. I like the set up that Milkman used with the locking nuts. The size of the holes are different on the tractor plate vs. the bar. I was thinking of drilling out the tractor plate the same size as the bar, what ever that is?? and/ or drilling them both to a common size bolt?? And using a grade 5 or 8 ( higher the number the stronger??) bolt & washer and locking nut. Do you think this will work? Will drilling the hole bigger on the tractor plate weaken that part? Just need a little help here, just a little mechanically challenged (well maybe more then a little) when it comes to this tractor stuff!

Thanks

Tom

The difference in the size of the holes in the plate vs the bar is a good reason to use the bushing, I used a 1/2 inch bit to just clean up the hole in the bar, so the bushing would fit in, the bolts are 3/8 grade 5 fine thread bolts. I think they will be sufficient, if there is a problem, i can redo them to something heavier. Thanks for the feedback, keep up the suggestions, I love this site, it has a lot of good ideas.
