I didn't measure the auger length, but it was sure longer much longer than 3 feet - guessing 4 feet. I'll measure tonight and let you know. Also, I forgot to mention the auger was 12" wide (I'm sure of this).

Thanks, I would love to know how deep those holes were. Most augers are in the 40" range, but you can only get about 32-36 inches of actual depth.

My eyes sure are bigger than my tape measure/w3tcompact/icons/blush.gif. The auger is 36" with a useable depth of 32-34". Those holes sure seemed 4 feet deep when I was cleaning them out with my hand post hole digger.

This is still great info...just the sort of info we all need to share. Thanks for the great posts! Now I know what auger to buy the first time my wife leaves town on business! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

You didn't happen to take any pics of that setup did you???

That is excellent news, thanks! You stated in an earlier post that you had a foot or so of ground clearence, so you should be able to add a short extension and then dig to 36" /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

That will teach me to believe dealers "You cant use a post hole digger with a BX".
