Re: BX Wannabe-But Isn\'t

I have to second the motion about actually seeing any of these machines before making a decision. This really shouldn't be a "color war"--most of the machines are very, very nice to own. I have a Kubota, but it could have been a NH, Deere or some other brand had circumstances or dealer situation been different.

Our property "came with" a Kubota L-210 with a mere 678 hours on it, but I just couldn't fight with the belt-drive mower deck and limited features...so I traded it in on the BX-2200. (Story at <A target="_blank" HREF=http://sawsndust.com/tractor.htm>http://sawsndust.com/tractor.htm</A>) Great machine. But of course, I wanted the hoe...and you know what that meant! <G>

Re: BX Wannabe-But Isn\'t

I am fighting the desire for that back hoe at this very moment. Someone asked me "what do you need it for" I answers "to dig holes"./w3tcompact/icons/grin.gif
I couldn't really justify the loader, but I bought it anyway, and this summer, I used it more than the deck!
Ohhh the agony!

Re: BX Wannabe-But Isn\'t

I keep wondering why I did not go with that B7500!, I keep looking at the picture and that 72" deck , gee wonder how long it would take to cut 2 acreas with a 6 foor deck!!!!! Guess I will never know....... the BX will have to do, based on feed back from the CFO!!

But to dream........

Re: BX Wannabe-But Isn\'t

Yea, I hear you. The FEL paid for itself REALLY fast, IMHO. We could never have moved the rocks that we used to build a low wall in the garden without it, handle large quantities of mulch like we do and other landscaping tasks. We also save about $50 a pop when those rare snowstorms hit the Phila area and can properly self-maintain the driveway that we share with our neighbor.

The hoe will probably not get as much use as the FEL, but it's already proven it's worth when our electrician's ditch-witch broke during a service upgrade to my shop three days after I took delivery of the BX-22. Me, a rank amature who never used a hoe before, managed to dig a 100+', two-foot deep trench relatively quickly so that the job was not held up. I've since started working on removing some stumps and other things. Several landscaping projects we have planned will also make very good use of the hoe.

I could probably rent a machine many times for less than I ended up paying for the "upgrade", but I liked the idea of having my own hoe and not having to deal with the logistics that renting requires. Who knows...an occasional odd-job for a neighbor might contribute to the ROI (return on investment)...<G>

Reminds me of a line from a movie...
"Have you ever been on a yacht?...It doesn't suck!"

Re: BX Wannabe-But Isn\'t

Neither the B7500 nor the B2410 can utilize a 72 inch MMM. The 60 inch is max size. J

Re: BX Wannabe-But Isn\'t

I see what you mean. To use a 72" deck in the B Series you would have to go with a B2710HSD or B2910. One must also remember that the wider the deck is the less objects you can mow between. For my use the 60" is perfect.

Re: BX Wannabe-But Isn\'t

The JD 2210 is here, parked at a dealership near me. I have pictures posted in the JD forum including some that includes a 4100 packed next to it. I hope to test drive one in the coming week.
