I seem to remember that there is a mailorder place for the filters and lube to do the 50 hour service. Dang'ed if I can find it. I know I can get the filters from TractorSmart. Since I'm in the opposite corner of the country from them would I be better off finding the fluids locally? Any suggestions?

Thanks as always for the help!

I use Amsoil and Kubota Filters, Its a good idea to have them before you need them...

I have this link on my homepage but here is a link to filters etc.

Kubota items

I also use Amsoil 15-40 HD&M since it is the same price as kubota oil and is better I feel. So Garrabo I agree with ya!

Yup also. It is nice to have a few items handy just in case.

I switched from 'bota oil to Amsoil also. The filters I get are from tractorsmart. Prompt service and a good price.

OK guys a little more help here for the newbie.

I am a big fan of synthetic oils over dino oils, but do not have much experience with the diesel or HST requirements.

I looked at the Amsoil web site and it looks like their product codes HDD (5W-30) or AME (15W-40) in the crankcase and ATH (30) in the HST. Right?

Last time I checked, my dealer's price for fluids was the same as Tractorsmart's. It might not hurt to check with your local Kubota dealer, if you have one nearby.

That should be what Dave is looking for. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Jennings Equipment I bet. I'll check with them. They are about an hour away... My local dealer thinks anything Kubota is covered in gold, not orange, if you know what I mean /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

I'd like to support him but his pricing is nuts. I've had good and bad luck with Jennings. We have nobody like tractor supply in this part of the country that I have been able to find. Only full list price dealers.

Does that translate to 11 full quarts or 22 1/2 quarts??? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I did my BX22 hyd trans fluid change, filter change & strainer clean it it was 2.8 gallons. That amount sticks in my head since I only got one 2.5 gallon + 2 qt and was short.

So the weird post of Full 22 1/2 qt (11 qt or 2.5 g) is within like 15% per the manual. Close enough for me.

Yeah, I used a glass measuring cup that would only hold 1/2 at a time, How easy was the strainer cleaning.

Strainer was easy. Had some metal particles on it (normal). Just make sure you have the o-ring in the correct spot when re-installing together.

I cleaned it (strainer) with brake clean and made sure it was dry before re-installing. Alsi put a small drop of oil on o-ring also.

"...it was 2.8 gallons. That amount sticks in my head since I only got one 2.5 gallon + 2 qt and was short."

Sorry, now I'm even more confused! /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

I think you are saying that 2.5 gallons plus two quarts was not quite enough ("was short"), but that adds up to three gallons, which is more than 2.8 gallons... /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Maybe I'm not reading something right -- wouldn't be the first time. So far we have reports of everything from 2.75 gallons (22 half-quarts = 11 quarts = 2 gallons + 3 quarts) to 3.75 gallons (1 gallon + 1 quart left in a five gallon jug). /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Another 20 hours or so and I'll know for sure! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Now that I have done a wonderful job of messing every one up here I go. Maybe this will clear this up.

I used (1) 2.5 gallon jug along with (2) qt of Hyd fluid for tranny. So that is I was short and had to add an additional qt of fluid. I also spilt some so it could be +/- 0.5 qt

If you get a total of 3-gallons you will be fine.

OK, I think I got it that time!

I should be in good shape then (if I don't spill any!). I bought 12 quarts, plus I have one more that the dealer gave me earlier "just in case." I think I'll pick up another quart of engine oil though, as he only gave me three.

Looking forward to the "fun" -- hope it is warmer when the time comes.

Filling it is a pain since you can over flow the funnnel quick and the placement of the hyd fill hoel is in a poor location.

I also think it takes 3 qts of engine oil or a tad more (like .2 of a qt). So total is like 3.2 or there about.
